Protect your downside first, let the upside take care itself.
Insas is a very safe investment.

Insas latest NTA is 2.03 + unrealised gain in Inari holdings RM1.32 = RM3.56
Let's say 50% discount, u should get RM1.78
Buy, hold or sell - it's your call

Based on today;s Inari market cap, Insas stands to gain RM1.32/share.
Market value of Inari/ Insas share = RM1.53, way above it's current share price.
Inari is indeed a gold mine to Insas.

Why should Lii Hen be valued at 10x.
I believe that is the least pricing multiple given their strong ROE & ROIC (>20%), DY (>6%) and net cash position + strong FCF generations.

Half yearly EPS = 21.52sen
Annualised EPS = 43.04sen

Fed to taper their Balance Sheet next month. The expectation for the coming hike in interest rate is either in Nov or Dec. Based on FOMC minutes, Fed seems more hawkish. Expect USD to strengthen.

Based on latest price @ 8 Sept:
Insas @ 1.02, P/E = 3.74x & P/BV = 0.44x
TA @ 0.675, P/E = 3.75x & P/BV = 0.46x
Based on the above valuation metrics, we can observed both stocks are trading at extremely cheap valuations, and thus presents an attractive investment for investors looking for value.
Both stocks qualify as earnings-based play - low P/E and assets-based play - low P/BV.
A look at their balance sheets, you will notice that there is much hidden value yet to be reflected in their respective share price. For instance, Insas's 20% stake in Inari (latest market cap - RM5,116million) alone translates to RM1.39 per share, above their current share price of 1.02. On top of that, Insas owns Ho Hup (13%), Omesti (10%) and SYF Resources (9%) - all recorded at BV in the balance sheet, in addition to cash & cash equivalents of RM0.72 per share.

ladahitam....where u got the news of privatization?
2017-09-06 21:57 | Report Abuse
since everyone starts to become expert on currency movement...
let's ponder..
do u think US economy is on the rise? if yes, what would happen to interest rates? if inflation rises then most likely Fed will raise rates and in the worst case may taper their balance sheet concurrently.
then what would happen? capital outflows....what is the effect on MYR then?

management already highlighted "operating environment to remain challenging and competitive due to greater presence of imports from overseas, in addition to the volatility of Ringgit Malaysia against the United States Dollar". This is a structural issue, i.e. heightened competition, whereby the company is unable to pass through the production cost hike to customer why may not be easily resolved. I foresee a period of lower profit

dividend payout may not be sustainable if the profit continues to go lower. looking at the high tin prices, more likely the profit continues to spiral downwards.

Annualised EPS yield 18 sen, Based on current price, P/E is 3.6 times. NTA increased to 1.47, P/BV is at 0.44 times. Along with Insas, TA is one of the most undervalued stock in Bursa.
The best solution is for the management is to take the company private since the market has under-appreciated the company anyway.

What is HRC reported EPS again? Oh it's 28sen only, even lower than previous year of 36sen.

If focus lumber is trading at high valuation then i would understand if the market would adjust downwards due to the lower earnings. But the fact is it's not. In fact, it is extremely undervalue based on its cash position and free cash flow generation.

this is simply misleading, you cant make such comparison based on the absolute EPS alone. there are many other factors to consider such as market leader, competitive advantages, efficiency, pricing power, earnings sustainability, free cash flows, dividend yield etc etc...before u come to a conclusion how much PE multiples should the market be pricing in...
to compare with DLady and Nestle, well....speechless

PE is below 10x. P/BV is even more astounding less than 0.5x (whereby its investments in Inari, Ho Hup, Omesti all recorded at BV). It's liquidation value per share is around 1.60. Just take into consideration of the potential revaluation of its holdings in Inari alone, should add up to 2.64 per share, ignoring investments.

i have respect for 3iii...have been following and reading his posts in investlah with great interest..
i would like to ask 3iii, what would do u think is the fair PE multiple for Hengyuan?
let's ponder a while, despite recording 2 good quarterly result, Hengyuan has been trading at low single PE multiple...let's say in a weak form of efficient market, do u think that the market has actually priced in fairly?

Price always moves ahead prior to announcement of quarter result...based on market movement, it is anticipated that Hengyuan will report good result. There is a possibility that the share price will be adjusted upwards (only if the EPS is surpise on the upside, perhaps >90 sen reported in the previous quarter) or downwards (more bias towards downwards) if the result is below 90sen.

Read a lot of hated comments. All i can say that at the end of day the INVESTMENT DECISION RESTS ON YOU, that's because it is your hard earned money, no one is pointing a gun towards you demanding you to buy the stock. It is YOUR DECISION and ONLY YOUR DECISION. Please be brave enough to OWN YOUR DECISION..take ownership...and not taking the easy way out by pointing other people and trying to smear their reputation.
Don;t be sour grape. There is nothing certain in investments. You should have known the risk and should have done adequate homework before you decide to put your money in.
It is just not right by blaming other people for your own mistake/losses.
Learned from your mistakes and try to improve. Blaming and destroying people's name/reputation would NOT HELP YOU in anyway. It only REFLECTS BADLY ON YOUR CHARACTER.
I'm not backing anyone here, purely basic ethics. OTB has no obligation to prove to you. In fact, no one in the world has the obligation to prove to you. It is YOUR DECISION, simple as that. You are the one made the call and you are the one responsible for your own decision/investments/money.
