The oil and gas business is a commodity business where margins are not sustainable. Now, it appears that the barriers to entry are so low. When you have players like Eversendai Corp and Yinson Holdings Bhd, who have never seen a rig in their lives, now becoming global players, I would be very careful

More so, selling them now when President Xi Jinping was hard on corruption now. How dare you steal when all the kampung folks were catching the thief?
So I don't think your theory of those Fujian officials cashing the shares now hold any water lah
2014-09-30 12:17 | Report Abuse
Well, you may be right that those Fujian officials were 'bribed' so that Xinquan can transfer their books to Bahamas and get listed elsewhere.
But hey, Xinquan was listed in 2010 and I am pretty sure those greedy Fujian officials were paid in Xinquan shares well before 2010 so as to enabled them to "green lighted" the transfer of book to Bahamas, right?
So far in my working memory I cannot point out any government official that took bribes and was willing to hide those payment (the Xinquan shares) for 4 to 5 years and don't realise the actual cash from the sale of those shares. And sell them only when Xinquan is at its lowest price

Secondly, your notion that : "....Great solid companies will be listed in USA and Shanghai. Hong Kong and Singapore will be the next on the list if they can't qualify for US and Shanghai." is by all mean an insult to HKEX or SGX.
Case in point : Alibaba. I don't think you know that Alibaba's first choice of IPO was HKEX rather than USA. Please google the IPO story of Alibaba then you will realise.
The morale of this : please get your facts right before you comment, as the forum here has a lot of investors or punters alike looking for direction or tips

Dear Fellatarjonga,
I do not subscribe to your notion that those "Red Chips" (mainland China listed companies) that listed on Bursa are "reject" from USA, HK or Singapore.
To put the perspective right, Xinquan was originally slated for an IPO in Singapore. It is only when the SC, MOF as well as Bursa wanted to compete paralelly and head-on with SGX that Bursa/SC decided to pitch for Xinquan, and as the history now prove, Xinquan's IPO was successfully "snatched" from SGX and get listed on Bursa.
Those CIMB merchant bankers involved in the pitching can testify on this.
Further, the CIMB Merchant Bank CEO Datuk Nazir Razak then even bought 400,000 shares of Xinquan at the IPO price and held the shares until today.

In short, come next Q1/2015, Hevea will be a net cash company and the cash level will compound at an astonishing $30-$40m per annum.
No other furniture stocks on Bursa can come near this Hevea Cash Machine !

Due to the lower debt level, we are seeing the interests expense to taper from $1.776m to only $1.334m in Q1/2014. That is a saving of $0.442m or a 25% decrease.
Going forward, I am pretty sure this trend will only widen in the favour of Hevea as the debt level started to come down drastically.
Barring unforeseen circumstances, with the Private Placement exercise currently underway which will raise at least $12m to the coffer of Hevea, together with the expected repayment of $32m for FY2014, I am of the opinion that the debt level of Hevea will be only $18m at the maximum scenario by Dec 31, 2014

Jho Low, now I totally agree with you on the "Pricing Power" of Hevea that you mentioned in your articles.
Hevea strong sales and much better profit in Japan is a resounding endorsement of Hevea's supreme quality and reputation in the 'best quality only' Japanese market.
My heartfelt kudos to the Management of Hevea : you have done a superb job !

Ready-to-Assemble (RTA) Business :
The revenue reported for this period increased by RM 3.67 million or 6.2% as compared to last year due to better sales performance and the increase in the products range. In addition, it was the peak season in Japan, the main market for the RTA sector.
The profit before tax reported for this period was RM5.47 million, an increase of RM2.22million or 68.34% as compared to corresponding period in 2013 due to further automation in the production processes contributing to higher efficiency. The more favourable USD exchange rate to Ringgit Malaysia had also contributed positively to the overall performance.

Particle chipboard Business :
The revenue reported for this period decreased slightly by RM1.35 million or 3.5 % as compared to the same period last year due to the lower sales volume of about 4.1%. The company had carried out a major shut-down of the Plant for about 10 days for preventive maintenance early this year. As a result, production volume was reduced and so was the sales volume.
The profit before tax reported for this period was RM 2.05 million as compared to loss of RM 0.15 million in 2013, an increase of RM2.20million or 1506%. The Company achieved a better and stronger financial performance in the reporting quarter due mainly to better costs control and better marketing strategies in promoting higher value products despite a significant tariff adjustment on electricity since 1st Jan 2014.

Congratulation to all Hevea shareholders!
This is a wonderful Q1 result.
Instead of paying down the loans at the rate of $25m per annum, the cash flow in Q1 is so strong that Hevea can even pay down $8.07m alone in Q1. If everything goes as in Q1, we can anticipate that Hevea will be able to pay down $32m+ in FY2014.

If Tanco really do this, that mean a total of 11.2% plus 16.23% i.e. 27.43% new Tanco shares will be created and finding its way to Tony Tan's coffer. That is almost 91.695m new Tanco shares coming online. Imagine what it will do to the market price of Tanco in long term

Ask you can see, Tanco is in no position to pay off this $10.839m due to Tony Tan, but please don't tell us that Tanco is going to issue another 54.195m new Tanco shares to him ! That is another 16.23% of Tanco's Issued Shares

6) After settling off with tony Tan's RM 7.5m payroll through the issuance of 37.5m new Tanco shares at $0.20, Tanco still owed certain directors (presumably must be Tony Tan) a further $10.839m !
