spread it out.... this is an EPF darling.... sometimes, it can be just EPF trading n nobody is aware coz these trades are done by nominees.

How about changing the mindset a little different. U still can sell in the morning, and buy back in the later afternoon. Well, if u r not confident u can get back the units later at cheaper rate, then sell a portion first. Maybe u can still buy back tomorrow.
If u do so several times, the net positions so far for DRBHICOM call warrants have been profitable. I believe the big sharks r doing so whenever there is volume, and notice that it happens only on those targeted warrants such as CJ and CN. Well, it used to be CG and CI (if anyone recall).
Anyway, the market is falling, so take your bet. Good luck!!

Yes, let's just say I've put in half of what I could afford..... Yes, both are falling, so I sell n q back later ..... :)))

Exactly.... So, I just play along how the market behaves.... :))

Except that POS is subsidiary of DRBHICOM, and it had a good run since last month. On the other hand, DRBHICOM had been dampening despite numerous good news. So, the market is behaving irrationally.

None .... that's why it's worth mentioning on irrational moves.... :))

Whenever POS is falling, DRB goes up. So, is this rotational play by the punters??

Yesterday's trade was somewhat irrational. The mother went up, but the warrants dropped...... fishy, fishy....

The Q1 results showed higher turnover than last year, but profit was lower, and much lower than expected. So, very likely the share price will drop in the morning before going back up. If the EPF is the one selling, then the scenario could be cloudy.
For CJ to back to 0.20, that needs a Redbull booster. But somewhere ardounf 0.165 to 0.17 would be achievable in the short term.

That the investment derailment of its UniAsia and Bank Muamalat at this point in time, show the right strategy in place. What we need is not an overnight magical wonderland; but a consistent display of stewardship n maturity in its business execution.
Another move which I fully agree is the dismissal of the former CEO of LOTUS Group. Just let him go n if he thinks he is better of than we thought, let him argue his case in court. The man needs to speak what he has to say; but we Malaysian needs to stand by what we believe is right.
Adios!!

The fact that DRBHICOM acknowledged the shortcoming of its newly acquired PROTON and more measures are undertaken to cut costs, and improving productivity show their plans in place to fix things up. The worst u can expect is that they can't even admit the shortcoming n continue to run business as usual.
2012-08-27 20:50 | Report Abuse
The lower profits as compared to corresponding period last year were in line with the expectation of PRoton's loss making LOTUS, and that of the higher interest costs as explained in their press release. But the more pertinent result is the growth factors of their other business.

That sounds like insider trade ..... i.e. someone expected poor results n therefore selling down its shares in DRBHICOM?? Who can possibly do so?? EPF?? or its largest shareholders??

Thanks. I sapu last minute the CJ at 13.5; and q at 13 but couldn't get any. Well, since CJ is in the money now, better hold on.

I don't think u can shortsell (i.e. if u do not have units in your CDS account, u r not allowed to sell short of your units on hand).
The contra play had been very active on WED, THURS, and FRI last week, if u haven't noticed. The similar amount of SOLD quantity resembled the BOUGHT quantity by end of day trade. That itself is contra play.
However, if you realise since the Friday (17 Aug 2012) highest rally, at least in the last few weeks, it will be T+4 for most traders Today. Hence, most who are not serious in holding this stock will be forced to sell no matter what. If that's the case, then u gotta be watchful as contra play today may be too risky. U can either make waves or drown by those who eventually buy up later n make another rally by end of day.
Likewise, new punters may also come in today, coz this week is the final week to announce quarterly results. Also, it is likely for DRBHICOM to announce final dividend these few days. So, if u r not too desperate for cash, I think better to pick up the shares n hold on for next week play.

DRBHICOM is expected to announce its final dividend this week. Isn't anyone interested??
2012-08-27 07:30 | Report Abuse
Yes, it's force selling day for the punters today, if they play contra. Big loss if they let go today.
2012-08-26 09:39 | Report Abuse
DRBHICOM has been a TRADING stock for EPF. Most of its volume play seem to see EPF announcing disposals during rally and buying back during the support level. Of late, the support level seems to be in the price range of RM2.50 to RM2.55.
Thereafter, whenever there is a rally, the sell down is in the region of RM2.62 to RM2.65. So, very likely those who wish to see a spike in DRBHICOM price may have to wait a while longer to see these price level breakthrough.
However, in the past couple of announcements, EPF seems to have accumulated back what were disposed of earlier. This may be an indication that EPF is eyeing for higher price spike than the past.
That aside, several positive news on DRBHICOM had surfaced just before RAYA. These include the potential disposal of its shareholding in Uni Asia insurance business, reducing shareholding in Bank Muamalat. Both having positive impact on its balance sheet and thumbs up by most analysts.
In fact, the more pertinent play would be the inverse of its price pattern with that of POS Malaysia. Recently, whenever POS rallies, DRBHICOM had some punters pushing down and buy back later. But, this may not be a long term trend because it would not make sense for POS's largest shareholder is DRBHICOM (i.e. holding 32% of POS shares). In fact, POS is now collaborating with DRBHICOM to unlock values in its landbank. Likewise, the recent dividend payout by POS, would also give DRBHICOM spare cash to play around with either paring down debts or scouting for other investments.
All in all, DRBHICOM is undervalued as indicated in the TPs above. So, it is just a matter of time that punters flock back to this counter. And when that happens, be ready for a DRAGON FLying UP, just like the Chinese New Year rally.
2012-08-24 22:22 | Report Abuse
Just checked the EPF trade. It has been disposing POS and buying DRBHICOM. So, my bet is still on DRBHICOM.
2012-08-24 22:15 | Report Abuse
It's hard not to believe in DRBHICOM, coz all the indications are towards a stock rally. However, economics sometime teach us that the market is really irrational.
The largest shareholder of POS is still DRBHICOM. The price is moving towards the price paid by DRBHICOM. Likewise, the dividend payout already justified that DRBHICOM is in the money, for its investment in POS.
So, logic tells me, DRBHICOM should spike even higher than POS in no time.

It is hard not to have some investment exposure in the AUTO sector. Recently, I had my usual car service and maintenance check. Compared to a year ago, the cost had tripled to what I used to pay. Inflation had not seen double digits as yet, but this multiplier had dented my wallet deeply. But, no complaints from consumers. Why?? Well, for simple reasons, we just can't be bothered and so long the car is kept running smoothly, no complaints on the costs.
So, I reckon DRBHICOM is making huge profits out of consumers, not only car sales but spare parts and components. Thus, I also want a piece of the cake (the profits that they make). If we have a choice, which AUTO stock would u choose??
(1) Based on VOLUME?? ---- DRBHICOM
(2) Based on Price affordability?? ----- DRBHICOM
(3) Based on Target Price differential?? ----- DRBHICOM
(4) Based on Political backing?? ---- SURELY DRBHICOM

This disposal of Bank Muamalat is not really a priority for DRBHICOM. In fact, there is always the excitement that DRBHICOM has a bank that it can cash out anytime.
Even if this negotiation fails, the keeping of 70% in bank muamalat is attractive enough to make DRBHICOM an investment choice.

Chee Wai - If u click on the "Dividends, Bonus, Splits & Others" under the Price Targets and Entitlement, you will be able to see the past Dividends payout i.e. interim in march, and final dividend in sept.
They should be announcing final dividend soon.

Boon Wee - My observation so far has been that whenever POS having a rally, DRBHCOM will be under selling pressure; and vice versa. Thus, it is likely to be the bandwagon mentality. Wherever the punters are, there will be the price movement.
DRBHICOM had its first day rally last Friday before Raya holidays. For those buying on margin, these three days will be good period for them to play contra (i.e. sell high in the morning, and then buy back in late evening before close on the same day). If you observe the pattern of the contra trade, it has been rather similar these past few weeks.
So, I have been selling whenever there is a rally such as last Friday, and today I bought some warrants CJ at lower price to cover what I sold last week. I guess this way, u can see some profits out of your investment in DRBHICOM.
For CN, I noticed that whenever there is a selling at 4.5sen, the next few days, there would be buying at 5 sen. So, I think this is probably another way to make money from CN.
In conclusion, if POS is falling tomorrow, very likely DRBHICOM will fly. But watch out for T+3 which is Friday, but the force selling will only happen next Monday which is T+4. So, just be extra careful and watch out for these few trading days.
Good luck!!

Yes, DRBHICOM.... Fly, FLY, FLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!
2012-08-21 07:59 | Report Abuse
In my view, DRBHICOM will not be a pure AUTO sector player, given its diversified portfolio of investments and the linkages of the business it holds. Btw, it is not a wholesale disposal of bank muamalat but a mere reduction of its shareholding to below 40% (currently holding 70%). Likewise, all these months, talks of disposal of these investments had failed (could it be just a teaser to delay timing for finding the right suitor and higher pricing?? Possible..). So, all is not lost.
The rumours on VW negotiating for a tie up with Proton to capitalise on the regional setup is not totally untrue. In the market place, any possibility can take its course at the most unexpected of times.
The news on POS's landbank development with DRBHICOM property division, is another crown jewel yet to be polished. It remains to be seen what the drawing board gonna look like in the next couple of months, when they announce their plan.
It will be interesting to see how a few things pan out in the next few months.
Given the diversified nature of the above, it would be hard to overlook this counter as an investment choice.
Anyway, good luck in trading tomorrow.
