Maybe they should rough up the ride a bit more to test the market's resolve. Take it back to 1.54, 12% off 1.75.

Damn good rollercoaster ride but nevertheless still only a controlled fun ride. Buying some more today.

At USD40 a barrel of crude oil, the tight oil producers will be back in force. Total costs of production as compared with crude oil has gone down to around USD32 per barrel equivalent. Extracting technology is still improving and costs are still dropping.
There is excessive over capacity of crude oil production and supplies in the world now and for a long long time to come.

TF is ready to increase his stake in AA before the price shoots too hign. The inevitable fabulous capital gains, high dividends and the glory in the future.
2016-03-04 21:36 | Report Abuse
Obviously TF is only trying to spook the Wellingtons, EPF and jittery investors/punters and edging them to redeem their capital now before the price heads for higher levels. Calm and collected investors will not run from AA after having dissected and studied all the numbers. Sure the price may start sliding on Monday but only because that is the calculated response to achieve with today's announcement.
A warrior will not reveal his weakness and a strong one feigns weakness instead.

Wellingtons underestimated TF. Not so smart.

If there wasnt any deal before the Friday last week, then this operator must be super huge to start the rally.

That is not a piece of news but only a wishful thinking on my part.

I see this 1.71 level as the last major resistance. It should be almost a certainty to give way. After that AA's fundamentals will take it price up as high as it can go. May see a golden cross next week or so.

All recent EPF purchases totalling 25,119,800 units in February had been by Affin-Hwang Asset Management Bhd, one of EPF's external equity portfolio managers.
So I guess EPF's internal equity management division which has been drip-selling AA shares for a long while has not decided to buy into AA yet. The bigger funds are usually the last to make their moves.
At $6 apiece, AA will be in the ballpark to be one of the FBMKLCI 30 constituent companies. Maybe one day, for this survivor.
2016-02-28 21:36 | Report Abuse
The Wellingtons and EPF together have off-loaded a total of 271m shares since the beginning of 2015, mostly after the GMT report in June last year. Obviously they are not the only ones dumping AA shares all this time.
Who have been buying and stocking up these, perhaps, over 300m shares? Us? 15m probably, 50m possibly. There are bigger fish around us.

AA announced the following on 8 Jan 2015.
Type Announcement
Subject OTHERS
Description AIRASIA BERHAD
ANNOUNCEMENT ON PERCENTAGE OF FOREIGN SHAREHOLDING IN AIRASIA BERHAD AS AT 31 DECEMBER 2014
AirAsia Berhad ("AirAsia" or “the Company”) wishes to announce for public information that as at 31 December 2014, 60.83% of the issued and paid-up share capital of AirAsia of 2,782,974,080 ordinary shares of RM0.10 each were held by foreigners.
The percentage of ownership of shares in the Company by foreigners has exceeded the limit of 45% of the Company's total issued and paid-up share capital ("Prescribed Limit").
Pursuant to the Securities Industry (Central Depositories) (Foreign Ownership) Regulations 1996, shares held by foreigners which are within the Prescribed Limit shall be entitled to all rights and entitlements attached to the shares. However, shares held by foreigners which have exceeded the Prescribed Limit shall also be entitled to all such rights and entitlements except for the exercise of voting rights in respect thereof.
This announcement is dated 8 January 2015.
This may be one of the reasons why they sold and are still doind so. After they cleared out completely, the foreign shareholding will still exceed the capping limit. It us not easy for outsiders to understand how things can be sloppy and what can or not be allowed.

Sometimes a new project which they have acquired by way of new shares issue may not generate immediate cashflow and profits but requires a period of time gor gestation which will result in earnings dilution for a period of time before the benefits become manifest.
2016-02-23 15:58 | Report Abuse
That is if you are not agreeable with their visions. In most shares dilution, the value is not much affected but your shareholding's percentage in the company is reduced.
2016-02-23 15:48 | Report Abuse
I wouldn't object if the company needs to borrow money for any business undertaking provided it is viable, profitable and something they are good at doing. If they want to raise more capital through private placements or rights issues for whatever purposes or new shares to acquire new assets, they have to make the necessary announcements before they bulldoze it through a shareholders' approval EGM. You can sell your shares before that.

Unlike American-Style Call Warrants which allow you to exercise them during the term of the warrants, holders of European-Style Non-Collaterised Cash Settled call warrants can only exercise them on maturity dates.
And the buck stops at the maturity date of the call warrant. There is no collateral residue to hold on to and wait for a possible revovery on your investment. You buy low and sell high during the term to redeem your capital and make money.
If you are one of the last persons holding some of the issued scripts on expiry date, you will either end up with cash if the closing price is above exercise price or zilch. If the amount of cash is less than prices and costs of your warrants purchases, you still end up witb a losing investment.

I wouldn't buy European-style non-collaterised call warrants on BJCorp based on how they have been performing since late 2009. I only started collecting the mother shares slowly since Oct 2914.

I wish that TF & KM can find and mobilise the resources to do some mopping up in the marketplace to downsize the freefloat and increase their shareholdings say to more comfortable 40 or 45% of AA. There can't be a more opportune time than now to do that given the low prices coupled with exiting or offloading substantial shareholders, the great prospects ahead with a rising Asia ...
Bring everything up to speed and take the company back to previous heights and beyond, get the growth path done and over with asap if it is really necessary. We don't really need to work in India, Indonesia, the Philippines or Japan. We only want a good and steady dividend policy and the share price will find its own good level.
We know you can do all these.

Sports Toto Malaysia's gaming revenue as reported by BJToto in its 2015 Annual Report was RM3.232.2m and the its PAT was RM477.2m.
Magnum's were RM2,991.3m and RM405.3m in the same year.
I don't have Pan Malaysia Pools Sdn Bhd figures for its gaming arms , DaMaCai, Big Sweep and the 3 Sarawak and Sabah centric licences. Pan Malaysia Pools is doing better than both Toto and Magnum but I am not sure if it is bigger than both them combined.
Toto and Magnum combined annual gaming revenue is over RM6.2b or approximately USD1.5b. So there you have the scale of NFO gaming business size in Malaysia.
In 2015, Vietnam's total gaming revenue was approx USD3b. You can visit Vietlott's website and deduce this from info extracted therein. You have to access the site from a desktop comp.
