BANGKOK: Thailand's plan to build a 90km land bridge across its southern region, which could see shipping trade bypass Malaysia and Singapore, is on paper easier than the long-touted Kra Canal, although it still faces steep challenges, say analysts.

But for Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, the project is expected to attract international investors and turn Thailand into a thriving production hub.

“This will be a global mega-project, which will shorten the duration of goods transport via the channel of the Malacca Strait by six to nine days,” he said during the Thailand-China Investment Forum in Beijing on Thursday (Oct 19).

Mr Srettha also added that Thailand is ready to welcome Chinese investors to help develop the country and promised to improve the ease of doing business in the kingdom in the future.

A NEW TRADE ROUTE LINKING THE INDIAN AND PACIFIC OCEANS
The land bridge project is designed to provide a new trade route between the Indian and Pacific Oceans. It will include two deep sea ports on Thailand’s eastern and western coasts as well as a rail and road system linking them together.

- It's not the prices going up, it's the value of your money going down.
- Thailand Central Bank Printing money and borrowing to support wealth transfer got us here. (BTW - The value of your parent's labor was transferred to others including Thailand Government grants to support solar panels, eVs, and the "Great Society" that increased single mom families from 20% in 1950s to 70% in 2022.)
- When you write your tax cheque, remember: Forty percent of your taxes pay for just INTEREST on the Thailand Federal debt.
- Some illegal aliens receive over $100,000/year in total Thailand Federal benefits.
- When the inflation rate goes down, prices are still INCREASING, just not as FAST as they were. Prices need to come DOWN.
To reclaim the Baht, you may need to "hold your nose" and change how you vote. It's up to you.

Thailand is probably voted for open borders, backed QE and the printing of money and Thailand government borrowing that boosted the price of assets. These are the causes of the problem.l in the economy and stock market economy…

Peoples spending habits were different back then.
When my dad was young not everyone even had a phone in their middle class neighborhoods.
Nobody spent money on anything, you bought groceries and cooked at home most of the time, nobody bought $7 drinks at starbucks, nobody had satellite, cable, 10 subscription streaming services, high speed internet at home, high speed internet and mobile phone service for every member of the family, a gym membership, etc etc etc. We live very different lives and our money goes different places. If you are willing to sacrifice on other areas and live more like your parents you might be able to afford lakefront property at a less popular spot.

Even if JSB offers cheap electricity… No way... I would never ever allow someone to plug an EV into my house. A single EV draws as much power as 15 homes with a fast charge of about 1 to 2 hours. 24 hours of charging would require more power than I'm going to freely give anyone. Better have $300 on hand or the answer will forever be "NO!"
Sorry, but those EV batteries are just way too expensive to charge!

My dad was a blue collar worker in the 70's-00's and it just took him to afford a good house and if he wanted he could've got better houses but he wanted to be comfortable. Point is middle class was only 1 person working getting paid about 3x-4x more than minimum wage. Now those same middle class jobs win a little over 2x more than minimum wage today. Every thing price increases but wages increases a little bit… How? Lafiji can help or not???

I'm quite lucky exposed to personal finance at an early age, started job 19, bought first home 28, got laid-off work 36 amid covid-outbreak, and at once I consulted an advisor to handle growing my finance.

Just wait, keep your current or sell them and come back when risk is lowered cos it's at all time time high.

The TRUTH is, that all of the "STUFF" here on earth we work SO hard to buy and accumulate..does NOT mean a thing. At the end of the day...people will be cleaning out our "STUFF" going thru our "STUFF" figuring out what to do with all of our "STUFF"…this “STUFF" we've accumulated in our life.
