You have your point and here is mine.

Earnings potential of Jaks during the construction stage is just a mirage. It has a beautiful story but it has no relevance to long-term investing in this power plant. There is no "business sense", but may be "trading sense". The proponents of this "business sense", without some numbers of future cash flows, were merely hoping to make a quickie out of it, and not aiming to ride on its after the plant is completed and power sold.

Professional analysts who came up with a target price for Jaks without having the information of the future cash flows of the power plant (and also that of its other businesses), are simply not professional and lack credibility.
A good professional analyst should be able to collect all necessary data, make estimate of its future cash flows, taking into consideration the huge debts the power plant has to service before cash is distributed to equity shareholders of the plant, and come out with an estimate of the intrinsic value of the shares.

A potential investment candidate has to have a beautiful story,to be backed up with some numbers. Otherwise there is no business sense, but more of bullshit.

Unfortunately, KC is not another snake oil salesman like Desa, Brightsmart, qqq3, long ranger, stockmanny etc etc. who just pluck stuff from the sky.

Sharing on stock picking is a serious matter. It involves a lot of analysis. It carries a lot of responsibilities. It is not like someone shouting sailang, margin on Jaks and Sendai at RM1.80+ and RM1.40 respectively, and at the end, causing pains to those who simply follow without assessing their own personal risk profile.

Stock picking is also not an endeavor to mislead, manipulate, or even outright cheating the newbies and innocent as someone has done for Jaks and Sendai by Desa, Brightsmart, qqq3, long ranger, stockmanny etc etc.

Thanks for the "high respect" you have had for me. But that respect is not what I seek for when I share article in i3investor, or trying to teach something about investing to the public.

In all my articles, I share about investment subjects which are very useful for the public. I truly believe so. I strongly believe these articles offered very good opposing opinions and views which were crucial for the success in investing. The outcomes have actually shown that indisputably as you can see.

As you have read my articles and digested them, (none of them are 马后炮 mix 消费别人来卖产品) and if you truly understood the message I have been trying to convey, and have an open mind, they will benefit you in your future financial well-being.

Another thing, in investing in Bursa, nobody is worth your idolizing. You do that in your own peril.

I doubt this is the reason. I do not see what has changed in the power plant as it appears that the project is on schedule. It is hard to believe that one can put up more than RM200m investing in a company and just lose faith in it a couple of year later.

I tend to believe what he said; the force selling due to margin calls.

It is easy to fathom that by estimating from the bursa announcements, what was the average price he bought, what margin we assumed he has used, and the approximate average price he sold.

All signs of margin calls were there.

This post describes a subject, an investment strategy which I showed it did not work. So it is a lesson for those who wish to follow this strategy.

It has nothing to do with any personality.

However, it still antagonizes some readers, so badly. Hence it is no good.
Because of that, I decided to take down the post.

Most of those receivables and payables are related to the power plant project of the JV entity.

It is more like Jaks did the work for the JV with Chinese partner as its total subcontractor in the power plant project.

So now the JV owed Jaks the work done as "receivables" in Jaks account, and Jaks owes its subcon the "payable" for work done.

Just an accounting exercise.

Just guessing.

What happened?

the only thing note worthy for sendai account to Sept is that Amount due from customers under construction contracts is reduced by $ 300 milllion and receivables increased by $ 400 million. This is the tug boat delivered money not yet received.

according to accounting rules, companies are supposed to provide for all LAD when it becomes foreseeable....not just up to Sept ....
meaning what? meaning if done properly, total provision of $ 35 million ( $ 20 million last quarter) is all that is needed...it is not apportioned by time. ...meaning also next quarter no need provision.

Bear in mind the BOT contract is 25 years. So, is 30 or 20 sen cash flow per share per year for 25 years attractive to Jaks at RM0.50 ?

I do agree with you that is very attractive if your assumptions are right, barring the absence of many unforeseen circumstances.

With this, we should expect the rights issues will be fully subscribed. If a major shareholder doesn't subscribe it, the management and the other major shareholders will do. If it is not, then there may be an alarm.

I give you a suggestion. Get your analyst son to read all my articles on Jaks and your articles on Jaks. Then ask him who got substance.

A good test on whether his "accountant" dad really got any substance in finance and investment, and how is he compared with an engineer.

You should be the one profusely apologize now as you have led many people lost a fortune shouting margin and sailang when Jaks was trading at RM1.50+.
