Projek Rangkaian Kereta Api Pantai Timur (ECRL) akan diteruskan dengan kos yang lebih rendah, kata Pejabat Perdana Menteri (PMO) hari ini.

Dalam kenyataan yang dikeluarkan kos projek itu dikurangkan selepas Putrajaya dan Beijing melakukan rundingan selama beberapa bulan.

Kata PMO kos pembinaan bagi fasa satu dan dua ECRL dikurangkan sebanyak RM21.5 bilion menjadi RM44 bilion.

"Pengurangan ini pasti memberi manfaat kepada Malaysia dan meringankan beban kewangan negara," kata kenyataan dikeluarkan itu.
