Sudden reversal looks more like a reaction due to oil price spiking up. If that is the case then its unsustainable. Could be related to the saudi oil plant shutdown. What if saudi able to fix the plant within this month? Oil supply stabilize so oil futures price drop back down? So pchem back down? Very likely.

BNM OPR is maintain at 3%, finance sector NIM is safe for now. So any upside or downside is limited for this 3 months until the next speculation when BNM convenes another meeting at 5 Nov.

The way the gain increase, the speed. I never like this type of increase, always as if some fund firm purposely jack it up. I want to keep pchem but not like this. Ok la 6% gain and exit before pullback.

NIM contraction with market speculating another cut at 12 sept. BNM possible going for another 25bp cut this month. So its either lock in more in FD at 4% or money flow into stocks/bond/currency. But i dont see other banks moving sideways like cimb. Ambank, rhb, maybank all going up. Maybe the interest business for cimb is more expose than usual.

TNB is looking to expand its pilot project in melaka to more than 16000 homes, encroaching TM userbase in whole of melaka. Not only that there is talks of TNB to expand the NFCP to kedah, perak and johor. If u still think there wont be war between TNB and TM, youre delusional. TM was too slow in expansion that the ministry was impatient with it. Its either TM expand now and secure customer or compete with TNB which have even greater fibre network than it has. So far Capex is not increasing, so TM wont be expanding soon. Who knows how this will affect TM, but it doesnt look good. Its almost like POS situation, stiff competition in urban and costly competition in rural area.
2019-08-28 17:43 | Report Abuse
Why would tnb work with tm? TNB fibre network alone dwarfs TM network even before the plan begin.

haha, not much stress also just annoyed. Fundamentally pchem is quite solid, tmr exdate, so it will end up green. But surprising trump can casually announce new tariff just to get back at china tariff, as if no planning just do whatever his mood feel like. Always expect recession to start with big bang like bank collapse or something, never imagine recession cause by tweet.

The ftse kick out, market already priced right? Its been few months, when it officially announce it wont move the counter much. But its good to get it out of the way. Growth wise other bank counter dont have presence in SEA countries other than cimb and maybank. These 2 should have bigger growth compare to others.

Stress, that drop is huge. Not even div date can pull in investor to keep pchem. Sometimes instinct is right tell u keep away.

The new board must do what ever it takes to convince gov on high tariff. They just commence the IT logistics system, this will cost a lot of employees job. Another layoff debacle will erode ppl faith in PH.
The last time a pos hike occur, it doubles in price, from 30s to 60s. IF hike the happens, it will most likely occur in FY20. So it seems pos will keep on bleeding in short term.
2019-08-22 16:24 | Report Abuse
@ckca what u say make sense, it explain why pos is in a uncertain position, they have to answer all USO delivery request. And like most ppl guess, urban area is full of competition, they are getting push out. This i think cannot fix near or long term, what they should do instead is to abandon urban and focus on reach & far delivery. To counter the cost, that tariff rebalancing must be in favor of pos. The political situation right also will force gov to put a high enough tariff that no more mass public layoff happen, if not that will be seen as negative in voter eyes.

I was checking 5g related company and i remember opcom, well my hope is dashed very quickly. Just fast looking at cashflow and cash balance sheet, this looks like a company in financial trouble, check eps, also negative growth. Operating activity is now bleeding cash just to keep on running. Fundamentally this company is on threshold, either get a big project or bleed cash until delist.

You dont need to be epf to know why utilities counter is good, its a natural hedge for trade war. No matter the circumstances ppl will always need to use utilities services, tm,tnb, water concessions. Not affected by anything. Only customer satisfaction need to fulfill.

In short/medium term, there is nothing going on with cimb, partnership with axiata is still in planning phase, same with takaful which can only see earnings FY20, there is nothing much incentives for cimb, dividend is not as much as other banks also. The philipines thing is also not that good considering the ph ppl is more registering for their partner mobile solution instead of cimb solely.
In september it is likely BNM will cut rate another 25bp, only then we can see which direction cimb going. Price go down for a reason...

Got in at 7.1, got out at 7.26, 1.3% gain, not bad, but for long term no way am i holding this, u cannot know the bottom. Anyway i still think the rapid commencement will initiate price war between pchem and lctitan. That could only mean race to the bottom, similar like telco ARP. Now there is mention of rate cut from BNM which should take place in september, it will close usd-myr parity diminishing any hopes of forex gain next time. Im suprise MIDF is postive in this counter.

Interesting article, sabah looking to push royalty payment above 5%. Mineral lease license will also be changed to only be granted to state owned entity. But since bahvest have a 35-year mineral lease from southsea gold, there will be no impact until lease maturity at 2048. That means the company better ramp up gold production and empty out the gold vein. What investor need to watch out for is that royalty payment increase.
Question is will the co agree to increase royalty payment?

Ppl been saying to get in this bluechip for awhile now, from peak 10 in 2018, they say 9.5 cheap, good to buy in batches, then 9.0, they say buy now its cheaper, then 8.5 they say start to buy now its even cheaper, then 8.0 they say very nice can buy so much cheaper, then 7.5..
I think anyone who read will understand where this is going.. Most analyst and IB's is predicting lower earnings for the next qtr announcement, couple with the rapid plant shut down due to fire. Understand also that most chemical companies do not stockpile inventory for chemicals, it is hazardous. Look at Lctitan PP and PE capacity, once petchem pengerang facility go online 4qtr, they will be producing excess supply in local market, which will no doubt trigger volume price competition between both of them. Further depress the earnings. With US adding additional tariffs, more goods which uses PE will have their demands reduce.
This counter would only be suitable IF the dividend return can outpace the capital loss, im talking multi-year holding of this counter, which is very unlikely for most retail investor.

Technically the pricing now is correct, but try see the bigger market. Banking sector is down as well as klci. So i am looking for volatility to ease down actually.

I dont really know kesm inside out but i cant help wonder if the trade war between japan-korea will affect kesm. Does kesm supply any goods to those countries? The bid today is still bleeding waterfall. Really concern with the foreign news now. Even with the div which is exdate today, should have at least earn kesm some positive gains is not affecting it.

Big investor have information retailers dont have, but from 2018 presentation we saw that management expecting more growth in this qtr or at least tally up. Even with the plant shutdown, they would have build up inventory to anticipate the demands. It will not hurt the bottomline at least not drastically. What will hurt is the china goods tariff, which will affect market orders of chemical.

600 counters down, i advise not to enter yet, to enter now is like catching knife, see for a trend. Last year during market rout, cimb went to down until 4.5-4.8++. No matter how good fundamental you cannot fight bigger trend. Hold steady, u can always enter during up climb.

US rate cut is certain to be 0.25%, wont be 50, market already take into account 25bp so if anything rate cut is not affecting cimb at all. Everyday 40-50-60m volume, its normal trading volume. But cimb is still falling, so what is driving the price down? Educated guess maybe retailers trying to preempt qtr result for 3rd qtr. Question is why is ppl expecting bad qtr?

This topglove is known to be hedge for klci index, but lately its falling down together. Add to the point that the co is initiating stupid lawsuits in 2 countries without proper impairment further brings doubt about the viability of the case, not mention the purpose. I feel irritated by management, harta have already started on their new antimicrobial glove, where is the counter for that in topglove product line. Is topglove going to lose marketshare to harta? If that is the case we should be movings to harta instead. World biggest glove maker? Thailand sri thang catching up, harta catching up, soon 2nd place or 3rd place.

Thai subs profit increase by 19% but its contribution to group earnings is 6% plus minus. Means 6.15% contribution, nothing in comparison. If cimb is looking to publish good news at least put out a good one.

Khazanah pawned cimb stake as convertible loan with maturity at 2024(5yr). EPF dont like so they are selling, past 1 week more than 5 million share dump in open market. How much more lower depends on epf planning. But the effect is not as harsh as everyone thought, dropping only by 30sen eventhough its epf that is selling. Everyone is readying bullet to buy in once epf stop selling, my guess.
Actually if u see back past month or 2, u notice kwsp and kwap been racing each other to sell as much as possible,
2019-07-12 15:39 | Report Abuse
This drop seems to be overreaction. Khazanah put out bond to fund something does not mean they dont think cimb is not performing. They just want to realise their holding in cimb now. Also bond is exchangeable and set to mature at 2024, which is in 5 years time. The way the counter drop as if tomorrow liquidating, this isnt deustche bank.

I am sad didnt pull the trigger to buy this counter few days ago, but i will share a little reason on why i did not buy, low NOSH value, combine with the fact the parent company sunright is a penny counter in its homeground SGX makes this surge very suspicious. Due diligence is absolutely necessary for this counter, i say it with reference to 2018 october for this counter. Not recommended for long term hold. If reach profit target should let go. Lets observe in coming days if this counter really have something going to warrant such drastic increase in price.

Yes, the news is comcorp is negotiating something about waste recovery business. But current minister is still reluctant on give permission because she doubt it and the current sentiment about pollution. So company maybe offering to do demonstration for proof of concept. Keep in mind government keep refusing a lot of waste permit from coming into country so it means only local waste maybe able to process. So this counter is still at best a speculator best friend. In any case refer to company pn17 business proposal for business change of direction and turnaround plan.
