I can say with confidence that this news will not dent demand for AA flights at all. Load will be high as ever. Ppl are not dumb. They understand the situation well. AA business will go on as usual.

We have to get out of the mentality of tomorrow, next week and next month. Oil is fundamentally depressed and RM is strengthening. AA is the market cost leader with high load factors. I see spectacular quaterly reports coming. Great time to hold AA. Just add more for me. Hope i get the chance to bring my 3.05 avg to become 3.00 at least.

1mdb is just the excuse, the reality is these small holders that are selling down are just taking profit. The volume is too small but the decline is bigger in comparison..why? smart money is letting it slide because they want to collect cheap and they know these short term holders want to take profit before raya....why buy higher?

Looks more and more like the potential selloff is losing steam and momentum. The effect might not be as big as initially feared.

supermx2, your method is not one which I would want to employ. I can have long term holdings and trade short term volatility to reap the benefits of both worlds and never miss the boat on any one of them.

@angelol, yes for sure the profit taking is due to slight FF selling but it is really very small. The reaction should be strongest in the initial stages but this reaction is very mild. It is a sign that most are still holding as they view the upside and reasons they bought in as still being legitimate and viable albeit being disturbed short-term by this negative sentiment. The volume is the clear indicator of this observation.

Of course that being said, we are not out of the woods yet as the selling may increase or subside depending on newsflow. The market movement now should be based on sentiment newsflow for the short term. That is why I see it as a good opportunity to add as I still need double what I have at a good entry around 3.00-3.05 for AA.

From what I can see from the profit taking today across the market is that it is mild and majority of holders are choosing to hold through this time. Only the minority who is selling is causing the correction and creating the buying opportunity. Hard to say how long it will last as there is funds on the sideline that is buying in as they missed the initial rally.

Waiting to add more if fall near 3.00. If not, i will just hold. Dont mind profit less on paper abit. What i really want is a chance to add double what i have.

This whole DoJ thing may act as a catalyst for FF to sell but to what extent its very hard to predict. Today it was lower on moderate volume. If it were the previous cycle I think it could have gone down alot more...atleast double. We will just have to wait and see. Monday would be critical and how the newsflow unfolds also holds a key.

There is a constant attempt to keep AA price below 3.35. The shorty wants to keep it low and BB that wants to buy in is being patient and collecting slowly. And so the price seems trapped in the 3.30-3.40 region. Need AAC to break it but it may be as late as Aug for the 1st announcement. Patience is key now.

with divvy we are at 3.54 now which is just 5cent short of the 3.59 high. It has definitely made the full circle recovery. Now its going to test new highs. Ultimately this means the TP has also been elevated from the last cycle. Last cycle I would only target 3.80 but now my TP is atleast 4.00.

If 4.50 hit, you are the ultimate sifu heng..
