Should consolidate for another 2-3 days but hopefully will close higher than 3.30. If break the 3.30 on closing then 3.20 will be the new support and it will consolidate there. I don't foresee going lower than 3.20.

Target price 4.20 leading up to AAC divvy.

They need to grow bottom line to re-rate the stock higher. No earnings growth or big announcement for future earnings very hard to push la to Rm1

Ive said for a long time now that oil is fundamentally depressed. Supply and demand is there for all to see. Inventories are not meaningfully coming down. Rigs and shale continue to rise and US oil will probably be 10mbpd by next year. Deep wells are peaking and going strong and 2018 they should still do ok. Opec cuts are not deep enough and it is unlikely they can make it deeper.

Moving forward depending on technological advancement, cost can come down lower making selling at $40-50 a norm. Why should it go higher? Maybe end of 2018 or early 2019 there will be a period of higher oil around $60-70 but even that wont last long as cost goes down and tech advances, it should stick to $40-50 range thereafter.

Testing the support on low volume and closed at 3.32, not bad. Next week hope to see testing 3.40 on tuesday or wednesday. Monday I think will consolidate between 3.30-3.40 more but stronger bias. Sold my 3.29 at 3.32 for quick money. Kept the 3.28 for long term.

This isnt panic. Volume is very low. Everyone that bought earlier is in the money now so they might not want to pick up and sell for contra gain. They can do that even as low as 3.28 and still make money. Smart money just letting it happen, no point to buy more expensive from them since their intention is clear that they want to sell and not pick it up..

Today AA successfully tested the support at 3.30 and bounce back. Volume is not worrying indicating more of healthy profit taking rather than sell-off. If the volume comes in then it can test 3.40 as early as tomorrow and consolidate above that. If volume continues to be low-ish then it will consolidate here between 3.30 and 3.40. So far so good. It all depends on the BB and if they buy in more.

Not as I hoped for 3.35 but consolidate after the fierce run-up with just -2sen isnt bad at all.

Seems to me that contra players selling or need to sell to take profit of the run-up. Need to clear them out first. Hope to close 3.35-3.37

Thank you elbrutus, I just hope to share my observations and help provide clarity to other members to consider against their own opinions. In upward stock movement like AA, there is no reason why we all cant make good money and so I hope we all do and help each other if we can.

old man you still very confident huh. Fundamental picture doesnt look too rosy old man, are u just betting on rebound play?

The fast upward movement we had the last few days is signs of catch up play without much resistance as there is very little ammo to short now. Its difficult to go against the trend.

I think the ups and downs for AA will be diff this time and alot less volatile around for a few but important reasons.

Firstly, the holders are more stable and not so nervous as AAC has better visibility and they have gone through the selldown already and unlikely to react to rumors or speculation the same way. The original short-term guys/speculators have long taken profit.

Secondly, AAC is much more closer now and ppl are more likely to accumulate and hold.

Thirdly, RM and oil is heading the right way as opposed to large parts of the last round when RM was going down and oil had the who opec production cut issues. Now RM is firming up with a view to head to 4.0 to the dollar and Opec has played its card and it hasnt worked.

Fourthly, management has guided great visibility in earnings, cost and yields for the rest of the year and they have mentioned that 2017 may even surpass 2016 as opposed to the last cycle we had uncertainty about AA earnings in 2017 as alot of analysts thought that yield and earnings would be hurt due to the increase in capacity.

There are more reasons but these are just off the top of my head. It is definitely a diff cycle and the ups and downs should be diff as well so careful on judging its movement based on the last cycle movement. If anything, imo some BB are getting in AA now as they sense the overall outlook has improved significantly and they are playing catch up.

As one of those who have sold during the previous downward movement and realised good profits already, I will hold now till AAC on my re-entry. Congrats to those realizing their gains or still holding. AA doing well for all of us.
