i haven't seen d&o, for jhm, q4 gross margin at 24.19%, highest in 2020, group undergone cost optimisation programme. Inventory stays high at over 34mil, prepayments/deposits logged higher at 5.7mil, highest in 2020, trade receivables also highest in 2020, over 130mil. These pointing to bigger orders received than q3. In the prospects mgmt said doing expansion plans with new customers from automotive and industrials, so i suppose coming qtrs shud be ok..just my opinions.

007007, thanks! no wonder company hired more workers for production needs in q4..
stevenckheng, i suspect partly from reversal of inventories/trade receivables written down and forex gains, after they managed to re-sell the old stocks in inventories (page 19 and 22).

shazza, haha no problem, important thing is u und and do whats best for your own portfolio :) cheers!
jason, ya, if not mistaken, the no-condition acc1 withdrawal is never done before even during 2008 financial crisis..
2021-02-23 10:59 | Report Abuse
shazza, for ur case, u have few options-
1. fork out own money to buy today, say at price 1.86, 100units, cost will be about RM10 +/-, so dividend u can take full cash.
2. go for drp, pay stamp duty RM10 + postage stamp RM1.50, 99units priced at 1.88.
3. ignore, do nothing and take the full cash.
question u can ask urself-
i) option 1 - do u need to buy more than 100units? so it is more worth the commision/stamp duties paid? what will this do to your final avg costs?
ii) option 2 - what will be the final avg costs? will result in oddlots, u plan to sell all soon?
2021-02-23 10:32 | Report Abuse
i3kyan, good question, there are a few things u can consider -
a) the dividend payment date is 11-March, will the price be higher than 1.88 or lower than 1.88 by then?
b) how many units u are entitled with this drp, and how many u plan to buy on 11-Mar if u skip the DRP? what is the difference in terms of the costs? what is the impact to our average costs?
c) do u plan to go for short term or long term?
for me, as I am long with it, i dont mind if the drp price is higher than market price, and my units entitled are not big enough to make much difference compare to i buy myself in the market by then, considering the drp is without costs (except for the stamp). But if you are short term, then yes, u shud consider take full cash.

kensington, thanks for the info! at least thats fair la, they re-do the DRP in next qr :)
2021-02-22 21:30 | Report Abuse
jason, there are many reasons that I can think of, some of it include-
a) epf disposing to meet i-sinar redemptions
b) fund mgrs rotating from defensive assets -> growth stocks
c) inflation outlook is heating up as oil prices and raw materials rose
and yes, inflation comes before rate hike, but in stck mkt, stock prices react well before the actual thing happens. and in a rising interest environment, reits with big floating rate loans will incur additional finance costs compared to fixed rate loans. So for axis, the 47% of the loans will incur more interests when rate is up.
anyway, just received forms for the DRP today, will sign and mail back soon :) if u do not intend to enroll in the reinvestment plan, just ignore them.
2021-02-22 17:13 | Report Abuse
Kensington, oh? so what happened after maybank cancelled the DRP? everybody gets full cash? did maybank replace back the DRP in the subsequent quarter?
2021-02-21 15:09 | Report Abuse
a quick check on the Q4 presentation materials, the floating rate loan axis own was at 63% as end of 2017, slightly on the high side, therefore interest rate hikes will have them to pay more interests..comparatively, as of end 2020, floating rate was 47% of total loan, which is better if/when there is rate hikes.

mm i did not say qr is not important, just that we shud not based solely on qr to decide, whether or not the tech companies will still grow after the vaccine only time will tell. cheers!
2021-02-20 18:51 | Report Abuse
haha, ok..anyway, plenty of liquidity, covid cases sloping down in high-vaccinated countries like Uk, Israel, etc, semicon shortages, EV ramp up, US govt subsidies+stimulus, i think majority of the techs may still be doing ok..

dartmaster, we need to see the prospects, and the past movements of its share prices. Stck mkt usually move ahead of its QRs (bcoz QR is history)..

@IamStillNew, just did a quick check on early 2018, appeared that BNM has hiked interest rate in late january, markets adjusted the reits (most reits corrected if not mistaken) ahead of the rate hike decision. Defensive assets like reits, bonds are usually sensitive to interest rates movements. During inflation periods, rates hikes periods, defensive assets usually underperform, compare to growth/riskier assets like stocks, 1 of the reasons being companies business can pass on costs to consumers, whereas reits, or bonds, usually their rentals, coupons are fixed during the contract periods, thereby less attractive comparatively.

yes, i-sinar with 0 condition withdrawals is a very probable 1 of the reasons epf keep selling stocks; during the pandemic, already there are many who suffered job loss, pay reductions, all these contributed to much smaller inflows to epf every month, now that there are i-lestari, i-sinar (which it touches on the account-1), epf have no choice but to sell equities/bonds to raise cash, among the stocks which we can observe are some of the bluechips or stocks epf own. A few notable examples: inari, pbb, reits, tm..so on.

rising oil prices attract increased oil activities by big oil companies like Petronas which results in more maintenance works/contracts for Frontken. Indirectly, yes. Can check their previous QR for oil/gas related prospects.

hope to see it by 22-feb becos director has ''hinted'' with bursa announcement to deal during ''closed'' period on 22-Jan..
2021-02-08 11:10 | Report Abuse
@shazza, the ex-date was 4-Feb, so if u have hold any units on 3-Feb, those units are entitled.
@Jiawei, u could refer to the earlier posts about these.
@invest4tomoro, there are many factors and reasons why a share could drop, but for this, I will tend to believe it is from disposals by EPF, we can check the announcements. And I believe the withdrawals from i-sinar, and coming dividends also part of the reasons why they sold.

basically share prices is like the pet dog, the company business is the pet owner, so as the owner brings the dog for a walk in the garden, the dog will wander around, but ultimately the direction and destination is determined by the owner (company business).
