There're few articles from i3investor that advised against buying Call Warrant especially for ppl looking for fast money. IMHO, warrant is just a gamble, it's used for hedging by companies that faced turnaround prob momentary. Theoretically they're as liquid as share but in actual you either strike it or loss all, unless you sold it in high time. I see lot of fishes caught in the net now.

For those who wonder why other O&G counters dosen't fly like skp ... did you actually know what kind of business/activity they're involved & what daily oil price means? If you know them ... the answer is clear cut

OPEC no longer able to control oil market like bfr, do some reading and it's not hard to know why. That's why even Arab ack OPEC meeting this week is only for discussion ... I like this kind of meeting b'cse it hikes the market for me to sell & buy cheaper

Daily Oil price is only important for retailer because that create prospect. Generally, no one in O & G spending extra money at least this & next year. Unfortunately that's also what UMWOG needs as an upstream focus company. So ... good news or bad news, don expect too much. Don ever follow EPF & PNB activity ... if you haven't being tricked enough (to buy)!

Used to hear "What's the right time to enter?" This's everyone guess. Market history told us that we will 'enter' with or without an answer ... and that's only half the equation, gain or loss also depends when (Did) you sell it. ... don sell only when you retire.

You can think like an investor but don't cross the line ... things like how to repay debts, unless you really has experience in managing company debts. Is this the 1st time oil price drops? How long has UMW exist ... why many listed companies still exist despite many quarters of losses, then how they repay their debts ... so on, so on. If you expect quick money, look else where.

Condo 1000 sqr ft near LRT in Selangor easily > 700k, taking 30yr loan you still have to pay around > rm2500/month. How much you can rent? In Selangor, rental for new unit fully furnished 1700-1900, but then you easily spend another 30k for renovate/furnishing. And minus maintenance fee 250/month, insurance and all those fixed cost ... you still at a lost technically if you plan to sell in 30yrs

What he said has a little truth. Note that he didn't say prop price don't hike incredibly. I actually go bck calculated and found some similarity. Take real example: house in Puchong 190k in 1998 now (2016) sold for 700k.
The CAGR is around 7.26%/yr (if I calc correctly) but your BLR is 6.85% + stamp duty, legal fee etc., you actually didn't earn that much. Even you factor in rental, don forget you also need renovate.
Of course for happy path, you got a flexi loan and you always pay more than installment, you got tenant and it stayed for 20 yrs etc. then you of course you gain.

As long as this company don't go PN17, both (all) comments here make sense depends on whether you got spare $$$ and when you want to pull out

I think O&G shares will suffer another quarter bfr rebound. Current hike in oil price has no effect on company but only improve moods. The companies are suffering from aftershocks. Assume there's no econ crisis & najib don't do another mockery on 1mdb ... we should see improvement by year end.

Ironically, past speculations influence 'supplies' but current growing consumption fail to reflect actual 'demands' ... that's why price so low ... is a good thing, if share trading is not concerned ;)

Bullhunter, I was thinking the same question why vehicles increase every month yet oil can drop >70% (even you consider hybrid car's popularity) ... so it turns out that Supply is from real supplies but Demand mostly consist of speculations (did world econ drop 70% in 2 yrs?).
So, hybrid cars or not, price is still speculated ^_^

The same trick happen again ...

This counter is really suitable for short selling. The outlook of oil dosen't chg much compare to guessing which fund is withdrawing. I sold 1.88 2 days before, at that time still think I got out too early. For those who got internet but can't go Genting they can keep busy here.

This counter is bought by few big funds. If they just focus on near future oil price movement (like what we see), we wouldn't see sign of starting low and closing high these few days. The amount is not big but definitely not at retailer level. This phenomenon suggests capital transfer from 1 fund to another (i.e EPF net seller) on willing seller willing buyer basis.

My explanation is, they have a certain TP to follow, and it's also very conservative, they will sell proportionately the weight is achieved. I think they renewed TP to around 1.80 after recently Q1 report announced.
