Nope. Company pays tax on their profits which they use to pay dividend. So you don't claim a tax credit or pay tax no matter your own income level on dividends.

Not going to be the next Nestle. But in a world ravaged by a pandemic where people and politicians are too stupid to fight it (see Brazil ad US).... yeah gloves are going to be selling for a very long time. At least for the next 2 years.
And even when we have a vaccine, it will take 6-8 months to make enough doses, and a few more months to distribute it. All that time we will need more gloves and finally when the pandemic is over, nations and hospitals around the world will have to resupply.
So glove companies are going to be making money for a few years.

hi guys, do you think splitting possible considering the current uptrend?
I think Topglove will exchange all its guaranteed exchangeable bonds first before considering what to do next. But if stock prices remain high, there is a tendency for Topglove management to issue a split when share prices stay above RM10 for a few months. We might know around September.

BEWARE...!Monkeys infected with COVID-19 develop immunity in studies, a positive sign for vaccines...CHICAGO (Reuters)
That vaccine by Sinovac is the most basic, most guarantee to work and hardest to scale up. They grew the SARS-Cov2 virus in VERO monkey cell line (a green monkey kidney epithelial cell line) and chemically inactivated it. This is the procedure used to make Salks Polio vaccine and the influenza vaccine.
The problem is growing large quantities of animal cells to grow the virus. This will make the vaccine more expensive and harder to scale up. DMEM while cheap and FBS while basic are not exactly cheap. DMEM cost RM170 per 500ml bottle and FBS cost about RM3600 per 500ml bottle. And we will need about liters of the stuff.
In any case, they still need to do a Phase I, Phase II and Phase III trial, human trials.
2020-05-19 09:26 | Report Abuse
Phase 1 just show that vaccine will not kill you.
Phase 2 show if vaccine will work in humans.
Phase 3 is to find adverse side effects.
Phase 1 is okay. But a lot of things won't kill you. Phase 2 is more important.

But we are in pandemic. Second wave is already starting to appear. Topglove will come down but not until a vaccine is developed.

Given that the Americans are opening up while they have not controlled the Covid19 virus, 100% guarantee that in by late May there will be massive Covi19 outbreak. Basic virology.
Need for gloves will be unending as tens of millions of people get sick. Topglove will see big profits from now till at least mid 2021.

AA problem is not bribery. AA didin't paid or receive a bribe. The problem with AA is the economic recession compounded and triggered by the coronavirus outbreak in China which is also spreading in this region. Airlines around the world are stopping flights to and from China. This also means fewer tourist to SEA, either from China, Europe or America.
This is what will slam AA. When we see AA quarter report at the end of Feb, it will be red, very very red.

Dioxins and similar chemicals are a problem that will build up over time.
Burning PVC release large amounts of HCL gas. Very corrosive to equipment. Also releases large amounts of chlorinated hydrocarbons.
Better to actually use pyrolysis to break down plastics into simpler hydrocarbons that can be refined and remade into new plastics.

Might have in expansion years. But this is 2019, global economic recession coming. You can see that in 1Q profits. Despite awesome dividends, AA share has fallen from 3.5 and has never recovered.

We saw the rise of Tm from RM 2.72 to RM3.53 That is 80 sen rise. TM usually give 20 cen in dividend.

Now Genting is 6.94. Would you still call that a buy?

Buy low, Sell high.
Genting is back up already.
If you buy high, you have to hope it climbs higher. How feasible is that in current climate.

On the plus side, EFP should be low on shares to sell. Price can start rising.

Well, topglove does have 25% of the global glove market. Something rather unique for a malaysian company. Topglove being a major international company still based at home.
And gloves are something that must be used to avoid contaminating something or being infected by bacteria/virus. Cheap gloves tend to tear. And if your life or project is depend on your personal protection, you are not going to skim on something as cheap as a disposable glove. And people do double glove for the really nasty stuff.
So I think Topglove will be okay. People aren't going to wear less gloves during a recession. You aren't going to risk HIV or hepatitis infection just to save a disposable glove.
As for Topglove being risky, well Topglove has been challenged at 4.61-4.67 level several times (some really strong like the 6 million sell off on 11 Jan and 1 million sell off earlier today 17 jan). Topglove has always rebounded back to 4.69-4.70. So if you buy at 4.61-4.67 I think it is pretty "safe".
Gloves are a necessity in biomedical field. People wear gloves all day. So what people feel comfortable in and what people feel safe wearing is what they will stick too. Saving a few dollars per box of gloves is not worth the hassle of ill feelings between the purchasing officer and people who wear said gloves.

Why AAX not same as AA
Physics and geography.
Long haul (AAX) vs short haul (AA).
Cheaper to fly short haul. On long haul, you have to burn fuel to carry fuel. And fuel does not pay for its ticket.
Long haul take long time. Short haul short time. In time to fly one long haul, you can do several short haul. Make more money that way/
Tourist movement. Many exotic places to see in SEA, all it would take is a short plane hop. Since ticket so cheap, tourist can hop a lot. Long distance travel is 2 trips max. One to come here and one to go home. Ticket maybe cheap but tourist will only take so many round trip to destination and home.
