just bot at 4.56... wish me luck :-)
2013-02-25 14:59 | Report Abuse
maybe ur right Dave... but 3.5 is a bit too drastic, how bout falling just up to 4 as downside, and up to 4.8 on the upside... anyway im in for the long run and accumulation rather than short run play.
2013-02-25 12:28 | Report Abuse
i think its been oversold.... will hit 4.8-5 in a weeks time... too hot for foerign funds to ignore at below 4.6 > naturally for the 4th highest div yielding stock, after maybank, maxis and BAT... (not considering new announcements of axiata etc) so people u decide...

digi... my faithful money churner :) just like life there is always ups and downs... buy when down sell when up... basic investing rule prevails, only difference is one needs holding power and patience... just like in that guns n roses song :) cheers people

i checked the financials... the gapurn ashareholders only pumped in RM1.5 million or so as share capital... and in return they getting RM111m and remaining in MRCB shares and warrants. Maybe im not reading this right... but good lord the deal stinks big time :-( better sell my shares on trading resumption and run
2013-02-11 11:55 | Report Abuse
this deal stinks... how in the world did this private company Gapurna got hold of landbank worth RM750 million!!! which they used to sell off to MRCB...??? What expertise does this new CEO brings to the table... after all he is only a CEO of a dormat company with landbank?

the bulk of restructuring and streamlining non-core business would be completed within about a year's time, upon which the share price would revert to its RM7 level... but as of now, its undervalued thus trigering the parent company to take it private... very logic sequence of events, but like in all cases there will always be losers... who are minority shareholders

i think IJM is a hidden gem.... with its book orders, and overweight on the construction industry... but it does have a thorn among its roses, stake in scomi.

i predict best time to buy is when contra players are gone (bulk of them at least).... so friday, after lunch :) lets see if im right
2013-01-09 16:22 | Report Abuse
today is trading ex-div, so all those who bought before today to get the div, will now be itching to sell and cabut.... so I see the price dropping all the way for the next 3 contra trading days ... at least

ah thx for the correction tonylim... yup yup im holding all 25K of it,at by BE price that 5.75 for mother share, so is there any hope? i give till end of mth then offload.... and if there is 1 thing im sure of the market, when i offload prices always goes up... LOL

RM4 @ 25% = RM1, ijm mother share RM5.20 less conversion RM4 = RM1.20 + RM1 = RM2.20 > today's traded price RM1.36 > so amacam... if im doing this right?

ijm-wc is my single biggest headache... since 2010, price conv of RM4 with an expiry of 24 Oct 2014.... its got quite a bit time left, but i consider it a loss cause... just need to cut somehow and run... the opportunity loss of keeping just too high... its that dirty SCOMI deal (or more like bail-out) that killed any hopes of a stroing recovery for IJM... i used to like krishnan tan... but this new ceo don no lah... look senget only... LOL

hahaha... not to worry my fren, no one has the ability to guess lowest prices... similar to highest prices, give and take 3-5% off the limits will do fine. TA... i have some there too but trading below cost. Thx for your wishes... but im not countin too soon, as its only paper till sold, besides i have to top up the other freakin loss makin ones like freakin ijm-wc... bot at 1.75 (average) plenty plenty !@$#%^&*() get ur bowlin ball out ... i will help u polish it too :-)

yeah kc... i got my epf investment drawdowns at 9.05 but knowing the yoyo day traders, the paper profits and losses swings from one day to another... somehow i dont dare trade short-term, although quite a bit of money can be made.... prefer the long way chill and see approach... as we get older and heart weaker, the approach changes too... but surely not for you Mr. "young-man" KC loh :-)

genting.... one of the most undervalued counters, offers little dividend returns but big upside on capital returns.... punters counter that makes money from punters @ gamblers.... what to expect. one of the darlings nevertheless...

Hi KC... happy new year to you too. Tun will always be Tun, he is the only person who can say that get off scot free. The Petron deal was another "massaged-deal" of course.
As for SKPetro... at this moment i think its over-priced, when counters like armada and waseong can actually offer better ROEs, but of course the latters are not market movers. Making big profits is one thing... but making good % returns of enquity and total asset is another barometer. In the long run... which will guide the share price? i can only predict. But I will never sell though.... as long as Petronas continues to feed it...

when tun mahathir was asked.... as Petronas advisor, did you advise the contracts to be given to kencana.... he blatantly replied YES... i asked all the contracts to go to my son's company... LOL, what more convincing do one need !!! Those who went in even about 1 week prior to the merger hold a cost fo about RM2.20 and where is it today.... RM4 will surely be a bumper...

just for info after the Nov 12 div issuance, Digi is still No. 3 with regards to div yield at 4.61% behind maybank and maxis, but having the highest payout ratio in bursa at 128%, so its speaks a lot. This counter has never failed me, and its the single biggest money spinner for me (on both revenue and capital gain, of course amongst other freakin loss making investments ie. ijm-wa..... errrrgh).
MCMC can do all they want and take an adopted child approach towards Digi, but my money is on Digi :)

flogging a dead horse ..comes to mind, sometimes it boggles me how management dont see the signs and wait till the last minute. Not having a major shareholder running the key decisions is one element I can identify of so called mis-management...

earnings of RM4b... which is about the same as Maybank, so why is it trading at much lower P/E ??? Is there an upside here? But kenanga only gives it a price target of RM10.30 a meagre 50c above current price.

technically the profits come from the company's profits and yes the share price should not deduct the dividend, but in teh real world fund managers tend to move the market in accordance to the spread... if i buy at 2.68 and get 5c dividend... ex-dividend I can sell at 2.63 and so call breakeven.... and i believe this is what fund managers do, and thats why teh price tends to drop ex-div... i think :-)

classic case of strong fundamentals but bad management. Im assuming u guys who invest in SB are young, so it enables you to absorb all that suspense and risk... not really for the faint hearted. Unless there is a knight in shining armour to rescue thsi company... its surely going under > the painful way... PN17.16.15... and so on
