KUCHING: Iris Corporation Bhd’s (Iris) financial year 2015 (FY15) core net losses of RM13 million came in below the research arm of TA Securities Holdings Bhd’s (TA Research) core net profit expectations of RM21.3 million.
In an announcement on Bursa Malaysia, Iris noted that for the 12 months financial period ended March 31, 2015, the group recorded a revenue and loss before taxation of RM564.5 million and RM17 million, representing a decrease of 1.53 per cent and 148 per cent from RM573.3 million and profit before taxation of RM35.1 million respectively recorded in the previous comparable financial year.
According to TA Research, Iris’ performance in the trusted identification and payment and transportation division is expected to fare better in the coming financial year.
“This is premised on resolved issues in the Tanzania and the Republic of Guinea, coupled with revenue generated from the Bangladesh MRP Passport,” it said.
Also, the research arm expected to see maiden contributions from its partnership with Global Blue to act as the approved refund agent for goods and services tax (GST) paid by foreign tourists.

PETALING JAYA: TSH Resources Bhd is confident its high yield, low cost model will cushion the effects of a challenging year with the fluctuation in crude palm oil (CPO) prices.
Chairman Datuk Dr Kelvin Tan said its CPO unit cost of production decreased by 4% to 6% in Malaysia and Indonesia in 2014 from the previous year.
"TSH's core profit is respectable compared with other plantation companies because our cost is low," he told a press conference after the group's AGM here.
"We focus on things that we have the capability to do better. We'll continue to reduce our costs and improve our yield," said Tan.
Its CPO production cost stood at RM890 per tonne in Sabah and RM1,220 per tonne in Indonesia. Tan said production costs can go even lower by stepping up fresh fruit bunch (FFB) yield and efficient cost controls.
It recorded FFB yields of 29.7 tonnes per hectare in Sabah and 23.2 tonnes per hectare in Indonesia. The potential for higher FFB yield is there as 76% of its plantations are immature and young matured fields, where trees are progressing into higher yield age.
........@Ring: all I know S... hv finished their replanting program n their yield is only 20 tonnes while TSH getting 29.7 tonnes, i am to say if oil palm plantation dont get above 23 tonnes, they can get prepared to close shop...???...!!!!

Warning:Face facts, 1) palm oil price not going up due to oversupply (supply n demand). 2) Crude oil pr going to sustain abt RM70, so plalm oil cannot penetrate biodiesel.3) Only solution stop cutting trees to grow oil palm (heat wave hv already killed 2330 ppl in India), instead increase d yield from d current 20mt to 23-25mt n those wt lower yield d Co will collapse. 4) dont forget minimum wage policy coming n price of fertiliser + gst very expensive but yield is low.5) to get d yield is simple "committment"...n hard work n worst u need only "cow sense to manage oil palm estates, I am only seeing ppl with no SENSE, i mean what I say !!!!!!!!!!!

The LLA signed in 2012 has two components whereby Felda is compensated. FGV has to pay Felda a fixed amount of RM248mil per year in cash for 20 years and the second component is a 15% share of operating profit from the sales of FFB derived from the estate land leased from Felda.
FGV is the only plantation company in Malaysia that adopts the unique LLA business model that has paved the way for its listing exercise.

B4 AEB & GH merged wt Sime thier yield was 20mt only n their share price then was about 2.50. IF S...is on 100% oil palm their pr will be about 2.50 so they hv to work very hard to get d yield similar to UP so they can pay 100% dividend n share pr 25-30. I think it very easy provided they r committed?

Felda 1Q profit plunges 97% to a mere RM3.58m, some RM11B in mkt capitalisation has been wiped out as d stock has stumbled from d peak, however settlers will still get what is due to them as GLCs is like ATM machine for BN.Question 1) why they rushed for d IPO. 2) no replanting program, palm r old with low yield n still can go for IPO. 3) Condition for IPO 15% profit must be paid to Felda Corporation balance if there is any then only for shareholders. 4) The CEO blaming low profit due to flash floods n low palm oil price. 5) He is taking d shareholders for a ride. 6) This is my warning, if they dont improve d yield felda may collapse. 7) MAS collapsed one reason high wages+many type of allowances. 8) Reduce d perks n wages of all d top employees n check on eyes OT etc. 9) increase productivity. 10) dont wait for last minute like MAS. 11) The CEO shd be a young planter say 40yrs old wt planting experience. 12) dont employ based on policies n those who r lazy.
