LY Hoh - they could 1) retain it 2) sell back to the market 3) distribute as dividend in specie or 4) cancel it.
The best option in my opinion is 1 or 4 as it likely will bump up future EPS hence price.

Any positive developments from the ruling that it's unconstitutional for Kedah state to ban gaming outlets?

Somewhat dissappointed although a lot of other companies are worse.
However, if you consider against the backdrop of aggressive sharebuyback (which will augur well for the future), it's quite commendable.

It's dividend announcing time. Waiting with a lot of anxiety and trepidation.
So are we going to get the run-of-the-mill announcement or a nice big surprise?

I believe that AK's companies are generally well run and there's no need for minority shareholders like me to constantly look over their shoulders to see if he's trying to shaft them. If AK wanted money, he'll just declare dividends and not do some shady related party deals. A corporate cheiftain in the same mould as the great Teh Hong Piow.
Rest in peace sir.

Thanks Sslee.
Now we've to put up with all the BS from management as to why they churn out (consistently if I may add) such rotten results. To make up for the shortfall of profits, perhaps the management should consider selling and realising gains from some of its assets so that we can be paid decent dividends.
I'd like to see some heads roll. We're not running a social club here.

What's the best strategy for this Co with fluctuating results from good to very bad? Given that its NTA is way above the share price, more so that a big chunk of real estate assets were not revalued for decades - its management should take initiatives to sell pieces of its massive real estate and realise some capital gains.
Use the gains / proceeds to reward the long-sufferring shareholders with nice fat dividends. Some companies have done likewise. Take Apollo for instance. What say you?

Merger will be bad for Sports Toto.
The cash cow in Berjaya group is Sports Toto. Berjaya Assets on the other hand is filled with underperforming rubbish. If you mix them up then what do I call my investment? I want a pure gaming exposure. As it stands now we have to tolerate car business in this mix. A merger will worsen the situation.

I'm fortunate to be out the whole day or else I would have sold at least half my portfolio before this quantum leap. Tomorrow the icing on the cake - dividends!!

At 9.80, it's at a steep discount to the market price. I'm guessing that the siblings want to simplify their asset holdings by holding the insurance business via Public Bank.
If LPI can maintain its performance, then there'll be larger EPS and dividends in store for Public Bank shareholders.

With CPO prices going well beyond 4k, will we see some bumper dividends coming our way?

Let's hope that the Co will either retain them as treasury shares or cancel them. It needs to neutralise as many shares as possible so as to bump up its EPS.
I applaud the continual share buyback measures but I hope it does not over do it until it has no more left in the coffers to pay handsome dividends.

I called to complain about the weeks of closure of the Petron at Damansara Heights. They said that there's a change of dealership and the civil servants (who btw will soon enjoy a big raise) at Domestic Trade have yet to approve it.

I see the Petron Station in Damansara closed for more than a week. This is the 2nd time even though business is very good. That's a big loss of revenue. WHY????

Yes good earnings performance over the years and very good net asset backing but all this is NOT reflected in the share price. Only we see it but the investors with deep pockets are NOT interested.
The only medicine for such a situation is for the company to start paying out big chunks of the profits in the form of DIVIDENDS so that shareholders are rewarded and those that stood by the sidelines will feel regretful!

Poor results expected. As usual - it tries to sugarcoat losses with vague praises.
Will this co turn around? If not then better be a takeover target. Some other co will be able to make money out of this license

Profits bobbing up & down. Prospects vague. Nothing much to shout about.
I think the purchase of Chemical Co a few quarters ago at an exhorbitant price is coming home to roost. It is haunting this co and will do so for a long time.

Beer is supposedly bad (moderate amounts should be good for health actually) but tobacco is much worst health-wise. Hence world-wide crackdown - particularly noticeable is in adverts. Beer brands still sponsor major soccer clubs.
