Never like to invest in commoditzed business but only in rare circumstances such as covid pandemic which has brought a lot of profits to the glove industry.

Raw material price increment > ASP price increment. I actually thought the industry will continue to thrive. Since there's no MOAT, expect raw material price to increase more due to demand for raw materials by new entrants.

Harta is way better than supermax despite being an OEM. I think being established as OBM in a commoditized sector doesnt add a lot of benefits. People can pay less for things that have the same quality and uses. U r not wearing gloves to flaunt your wealth. But to protect you from chemicals, dirt or microbes. Supermax just happened to be an OBM at the RIGHT TIME, which has driven supermax asp very high during the pandemic.

Harta total return before the pandemic happened is about 3500%-4000%. That's in 12 years. Supermax is about 350%-400% in 14 years.

My tp for supermax is around rm4 (+/- 20 cents). Lets see how market price super.

Supermax wont stay in klci index for long. Likely to be removed in the next review, which will be around june.

Despite a guaranteed more than 1 bil profit in the next quarter, market knows supermax profit is not sustainable. It's not organic growth. Just pull-forward demand.

Even if it's slow to innoculate 60 - 70% of the population and the demand for medical glove is increasing, the profit wont be as good as before due to higher raw material prices, which will offset the increase in ASP. New entrants coming in will reduce the ASP even further. Since super doesnt have the capacity of tg and harta, expect super to drop more than tg and harta. Btw, there are red flags in supermax financial report. They have to defer revenue to the next quarter despite earning a lot. This what we call as cookie jar reserves accounting. BAD SIGN.

And supermax is not transparent in their financial reports. They are using cookie reserves accounting to make it as if their earnings are going high, but actually it's not. The rise in raw material prices will outpace the small rise in ASP.

Kinda scary that a mutated form of covid 19 is being passed from minks to humans. Not sure pfizer, moderna or vacinne is able to cure this. If really cannot, then 2021 might be the time when real recession hits. Already sold all my glove shares. Might buy back if shit hits the ceiling fan.
