EPF had been accumulating since the beginning of Oct.

EPF buying is a very good sign. They want to make a killing so as to be able to pay dividends in 2019.

@Stock_god. Maybe OTB did not take his own advice. Possible.

Fart1 is correct, correct, correct! But Gamuda shows that they have access to and
know how to use skills, even "white" skills. It doesn't matter that the cat is white or black....!

Look at the charts. Man can lie but not charts - OTB's million dollar advice!

No need to hold for a few years with AWC. Just look at the charts. My charts: 1 indicator still show uptrend, 3 neutral, 2 show oversold and 2 downtrend. The candle chart to me is positive. Overall: bullish trend is intact!

I disagree. What Tun and Daim knew about the kick-back quantum is irrelevant.
Those will skills and technology is 'king'.
If they have this, the Banks are willing and anxious to fund them, especially infra projects and especially if they have government contracts - the safest contracts of all.
That is why Gamuda 'bit the bullet' took a hair-cut and retain their underground infra contract. More than that, they retain their relationship with the Harapan govt, having put to rest the cry of "get Gamuda out"!
So Fart2 betted well. But Gamuda shares will remian depressed for a while due to MACC likely coming round to ferret out the MO1 moles; especially if the kickbacks prior to Harapan taking over, is linked to repaying 1MDB.

Gamuda got back underground project because it slashed RM3.6B off the remaining project cost. Likely that was the amount of kick-backs to you-know-who.

Don't listen to the Farts. They like the stink of their own farts! That's why they keep farting instead of talking coherent sense!

Market is gripped by fear - Dow Jones crash. But Shanghai/China held up the world's markets. Only US is in trouble -deep trouble. Also Europe. But China is almost 50% larger than the US economy based on PPP. But Malaysia is in a sweet spot now.

No don't cut loss on KPS. I once held KPS for two years and still made double what I would have made in FD!

There is expansion in manufacturing in Malaysia due to relocation from China and Europe. So demand for paper packaging is likely to rise. I would accumulate. The Zhejiang-Sime joint venture in Kedah will likely take at least 2 years to start production.

Also the market is now weighed down by nervousness over Lim Guan Eng's "pain and sacrifice" upcoming budget.

The weakness in KPS (as in all GLCs), lies in its management. They have not much motivation to perform and fight for market share; tends to sit on their laurels and wait for state govt to give them business!

The two farts - one fart up to the skies and the other fart down to the jambans. The truth is the hard facts somewhere in between. Fart2 has more facts than Fart1 but Fart2 is too pessimistic!

Gamuda will survive with or without the underground project. It's when MACC comes round with the circumcision knife to neuter/castrate, that will likely takes it under! MACC directors must move fast to save the company and shareholders. Too many negatives building up especially if its role in the 2009 coup in Perak is connected!

But Fart1 is right. KPS as a GLC is on safer grounds, unlike companies like Salcon to which MACC can come round anytime.
2018-10-19 17:13 | Report Abuse
MACC likely coming for possible links to MO1. Gamuda must take drastic action to save itself or become history. You can't fight with the powers-that-be. Cash is no more 'king'.
2018-10-19 17:09 | Report Abuse
Yeah Gamuda is probably history. It's only a matter of when MACC's dragnet will haul it up for possible links to MO1. Keep away from any company linked to MO1 and UMNO until the dust settles (if it settles).
Just see what happened to Datasonic. Will Fart2 want to venture into Datasonic now that it is limit-down?
As for KPS, the guillotine will come down once the RM250 million loss on sale of asset is recognised in whatever quarter it is recognised. New pipe-line contracts need to be in the order of at least RM1B to restore confidence!

rogers123 is correct. NTA will reduce by about 50 sens after disposal of Splash due to the haircut. Hopefully the contributions from other business segments will moderate the share price.

Pipe-line contracts and ALL contracts will go by open tender. Any favouritism and the MACC will come down very hard. There will be competitors. In the meantime, the RM250 million loss is hanging like a guillotine over KPS.

King coil is driven by normal market, steady demand. It's the water pipe maintenance/repair and new pipe market that is the growth for KPS. Not to mention e-commerce packing and packaging where Century Bond is well positioned to capitalise on. The money from the sale of Splash will come in handy not only to retire debts but also to finance new ventures in growth areas. It's all depends on the business acumen of the present management.

Suit and counter-suit are normal. The counter suit is usually at a size to induce anxiety ad force a compromise. The lawyers on both sides wins!
