HSR will have to pass through Bandar Malaysia because Bandar Malaysia is so central for picking up and disembarking passengers.

TDM did not dismiss the HSR altogether. He said "not now". But the moratorium from Simgapore was up to May 2020 after which Malaysia has to pay heavy compensation.

He also hinted that extending the HSR to Penang and even to the Thai border would make it more competitive.

So the HSR is alive and well and could even be bigger.

But IWCITY is not just about the HSR. It's about its land holdings and developments in Johor Baru and Bandar Malaysia.

Also Bandar Malaysia;s development could well be the icing on the cake for China to reduce the price of the ECRL.
