Survive OK. But the share price yet to find its new normal?
2014-11-12 22:52 | Report Abuse
They (KIBB) made a mistake in the summary of principal terms: exercise price of both CA and CB are the same i.e. RM4. Whereas in the listing info and profile for CA, the exercise price is RM5 (4 for CB). This wrong-footed me. Oh well, I can only be as accurate as the info given. But can anyone venture an answer to bobbywee's last question? Don't be afraid to be wrong.

CW= Call Warrant; CB= actual name of warrant (short for Call B)

SSMM61, never mind. To err is human. We all learn from mistakes/failures which to me are greater teachers than success! To me, it is best to work on the lowest denominator i.e. to calculate based on a single warrant. Also, for CA and CB, banker don't have to pay CA or CB investors if closing price is less than or equal to 4.01 and 5.01 respectively (remember the deduction of exercise expense?). But for both CA and CB (since they are issued by the same banker KIBB) banker will suffer a net loss if closing price of KSL on 10/9/2015 is 4.32 (I mention 4.31 above which was wrong as I left out exercise expense for CA). This is because at >4.32, bankers will have to pay more than the RM30 million that they pocketed when investors bought the 200 million warrants from them at 0.15 sens each! Although they may still earn from the interest in holding and lending out the RM30 million for one year as I pointed out above! Have I missed out anything?

There we are now analysing the mathematical impact of the newly listed KSL CA and CB on KSL's shareholders' prospects!

For the record, I have never said 'never' when referring to KSL's future price or any sotck's price! Go check at KSL's forum...and invest in KSL while you are there. Likely you will make a tidy profit!

Given the higher closing price requirements for CA, it's no wonder the volume for CB is much more!

There is a vagueness in the description of what constitute the closing pric. I quote:
The VWAP of KSL Shares (subject to any adjustment as may be
necessary to reflect capitalisation, rights issue, distribution or others)
for five (5) Market Days prior to and including the Market Day
immediately before the Expiry Date
Could anyone clarify what is the impact of : '(subject to any adjustment as may be necessary to reflect capitalisation, rights issue, distribution or others)'?

I think CA is a hedge against CB. If this is so, what they lose on CB if closing price is more than 4.16 is balanced out by what they win on CA with a higher exercise of RM5 - in which case CA investors will need an ex price of 5.01 to recoup something and 5.16 to break-even. But the bankers will suffer a net loss well before this i.e. if the closing price is > 4.31. For KSL shareholders, it means that under both the CA and CB scenarios, the max price for KSL as estimated by the big boys is 4.31 on 10/9/2015 i.e.after the coming 1:1 bonus issue. Have I missed out something?

SS661M. Bro, let me study both carefully. I was referring to CB in my calculations.

fortunebullz, very good! Thank you for the promotion. Come and invest in KSL! It's a very good share.

And BTW, fortunebullz, KSL did break 4.60 today ...again. Please check the records.
2014-11-12 18:21 | Report Abuse
BTW, fortunebullz was chased out of the SKPETRO forum by many because he kept fortune-telling that its price will 'gap-up-to-3.20'. Hence his new nick: 'gap-up-to-3.20' fortunebullz. This phrase was copy and pasted by one forummer there so that he cannot delete his comments.

fortunebullz, KSL is a different stock than SKPetro. That's why my remarks at the time. KSL's fundamentals are verifiable, visible and potential value are known! Also KSL is going to pay divvy with share or divvy plan for shareholders and declare 1:1 bonus. It's a undervalue share. Kenanga's TP of 6.63 is a liberal 50% discount to its' value. Whereas SKP just had its fundamentals knocked from under its feet by the imploding crude oil price. You will do well to invest in KSL. At 4.54, it's a good bargain. The big boys have just bet the price to be a max of 4.02 to 4.16 on 10/9/2014 AFTER the 1:1 bonus issue. So please calm down and enjoy the show!

'Gap-up-to-3.20' fortunebulls**t (your new nick at the SKPETRO forum), jacklintan was asking in jest. I was answering in jest. If she want to buy from me at RM4 after bonus 1;1 ex-date on a sweet-heart deal to me, why not? have a sense of humour lah!

jacklintan, I wanna sell to you at RM4 after bonus 1:1 ex-date!
2014-11-12 16:54 | Report Abuse
They already pocketed up-front RM30 million from the 2 call warrants. They will also earn interest from it by lending it out. If their reserve ratio is say 10%, they can lend up to 10 times the remaining RM27 million i.e. RM270 million and earn interest from it. Bankers almost never lose! i.e. unless they bet against people like Soros. Then they are likely to lose the Bank! HaHaHa!
2014-11-12 16:43 | Report Abuse
jacklintan baby, just read SS661M's and my write-up and make your decision! The price is 4.56 now. After bonus 1:1, it should be 50% of the then prevailing price. The big boys said that their bet is max of 4.02 to 4.16 on September 10, 2015, AFTER the 1:1 bonus issue. IF KSL's management want to play out the bankers (highly unlikely) they would declare a handsome divvy on 28/11/2014 but defer the bonus 1:1 ex-date until after 10/9/2015! Or if they play along, they may declare another bonus (say 1:4) in 2015 with ex-date before 10/9/2015. That is why I say, if want to buy shares for value investment, always consider the management, whether they exercise integrity. Otherwise trade the share! But KSL have indicated they are OK so far!

Correction: Bankers will pay RM1 million for every sen above closing price of 4.01 on 10/9/2015! The maximum the bankers will pay is RM15 million or 15 sens per warrant before they lose money i.e. if the closing price is >4.16. Double this for the two call warrants! If the syndicates are invested in CA or CB, they will fight the bankers to push up the price prior to 10/9/2015.
But for us investors, we now know that the big boys calculated that the maximum price at 10/9/2015 is 4.02 to 4.16 after bonus 1:1 issue! That is only 10 months away!

jacklintan darling, stkoay was here this morning. He was (I am sure) missing you!
2014-11-12 16:15 | Report Abuse
SS661M. Bro, I think the calculations are as follows:
Cash
Settlement
Amount = Exercise Amount x 1/6 x (Closing Price - Exercise Price) -
Exercise Expenses
The issue price is 15 sens; exercise amount is the total number of warrants on hand at expiry date. We do not need to add to 15 sen to get to Bankers' break-even price since that should deducted from the final cash settlement. example 1/6 = 16.67 sens, i.e. 1.67 sens above the offer price of 15 sens, but will be netted off by the exercise expense item.
Therefore, Bankers will only make a loss if 1/6 x (closing price-exercise price) is more 1 i.e. if closing price on 10/9/2015 is >4.01. Therefore if closing price is 4.02, Bankers will have to pay (.1667 sen x 2) - exercise expense of .0167 sen and - 0.15 sen (cost) = 0.1667 sens subjected to a minimum of 600 warrants.
Conclusion: The Bankers will try to press down the price and especially the 5 trading days before 10/9/2014! Otherwise they will lose RM100K for every sen of the closing price above RM4.01! Whether any member of KSL's management will cooperate in the possible price-fixing next year depends whether they are given a piece of the bankers' pie!
Correct me if I am wrong please!

USD won't strengthen much against ringgit base on US recovery alone. US recovery still tentative. The price of crude oil is the key. Malaysia depends on about USD100/barrel or thereabouts to balance budget.

The future is anybody's guess and even a fortune teller can give an opinion. Anyone trying to predict the future 100% as in a stock price 'will' rise or fall is either mad, a conman or a fool or worse! We should factor in the known facts and even then the unknown facts will knock out our predictions. To me happybubblepink is a good data and fact based approach the approach professional investors' use. Christine Lee applies a woman's intuition to share investing. Which do you prefer? In Britain, there was a case of a dog beating the market with its stock picks! HaHaHa!
