My hunch is that the uncertainty was deliberately created to drop the price so some parties can collect. The uncertainty is the actual size of the special dividend which only Puncak's director/s know!

Someone, possibly with insider info is manipulating the price, capitalising on the uncertainty.

Yeah, a syndicate took away support at 3.40 and let the price drop to collect below 3.40. I must remember this technique!

I thinks it's an emotional reaction to disappointment to vibes that the special dividend will be on the low side for some (this disregard the high-end forecast of RM0.85 special dividend per share). Another is the two months to wait for the EGM (deliberate to bring down the price for collection?). But the real issue may be the envisaged move into OPP which in industrial circles, however, is a virtual sure gainer (only the really stupid make losses in OPP). This is an uncertainty which investors hedged against by selling down their holdings until more details as to the OPPs/pieces of land that they are looking at emerge. However, looking at the chart, the sell-off bottomed out at RM3.44 and rebounded to RM3.49. looking towards Monday, the main support level is RM3.4 and the resistance levels are Rm3.52. RM3.6 and RM3.72 according to my chart.

@stkoay. The article did not explain why earnings plunged for the last quarter which unnerved the investors. Do you have any info as to why?

@jacklintan. I am not sure what will happen to the price if that happened. But unlikely since the deal is accepted via letters exchanged. And PR has not choice but to proceed to take over Syabas if they want to solve water problem without possibly being sabotaged by Syabas if not under their control.

@hng33. Do you have any idea when the Rapid contract, for which Puncak is the front runner, is likely to be awarded?

@jacklintan. How do you read Puncak now? Do you think all the sell-down is over? You were correct again that it did not go down to RM3.35 and even rally to RM3.49 at the close.

@jacklintan. Just a hunch, especially if Felcra has lots of producing Oil Palm plantations. It does has palm oil mills.

It's depends on how Puncak is going into the OPP business. If it takes over existing plantations or better still, buys Felcra, then the sky the limits for the price of this share! There is a good chance it may privatised a FFB producing OPP>

If young like explosion share boom, go to SEAL and Pworth. Still time to get in for both. Risk's always yours of course! I am in the middle, got explosive shares and tiger ones like Puncak!

Puncak has something for everyone both old and young. Not old if Felcra or other producing plantations are privatised to Puncak. OP gives visibility in steady earnings from 5 to 25 years and the value of the plantation land rises all the time!

You won't be trapped in Puncak at this level, unless a contra or with no-holding strength.
