KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 21): Sports Toto Bhd’s net profit grew 21.77% to RM64.86 million in the second quarter ended Dec 31, 2022 (2QFY2023) from RM53.26 million in the same period last year, primarily due to improved results by its principal subsidiary company STM Lottery Sdn Bhd.

The group's quarterly revenue rose 13.07% to RM1.41 billion from RM1.25 billion. It declared a second interim dividend of 2.5 sen per share amounting to RM33.74 million, to be paid on April 21.

Winding up Serba is not an issue. But the real issues are the bank and government institutional and others able to absorb the losses. Can Serba a renown bumiputra company can be rectified ? Will the O&G sector able to recover in 2023 ? How about thousand of workers goes jobless and you are one of them. Economic reasons for winding up must be seriously weighed. How about Bursa reputation in treating this Serba case ? All these will have chain reactions and ultimately will affect all stakeholders including all future and current investors in bumi companies.

Hmmmmm.... It is Bursa requirements that all annual report to be certified by auditors. Why worry ? Otherwise will be red flagged. For Serba it is just another mistake that they should learn about corporate governance in the future but already forgiven by the law. Well my questions are simple. Aren't Serba has it own annual report and why are they not address by KPMG every year. Why accounts are unverified ? As such how to come to a conclusion that Serba lost 5B whilst accounts have not completed its task. Do you think this is over exaggerate on Serba. Finally such a big discrepancies how Serba can release the AR 2022 ! I think we are not in the picture and let the authorities and more qualified people to handle. Neither anyone in this forum can comment otherwise if you are auditing Serba or handling the case in reality. Let us see how Serba management deals with the issues.
