mneo is just about right. but how much of that bal of cash will be distributed is not known. what happens if the compamy is delisted.!!! That unknown has left only the first part recognised. ie 5.25...the bal depends on Mr gan.

Hey guys my two sen worth..Sumatec's valuation on Kazak venture was struck at oil price of USD 100. At the time the deal was done Brent crude I recall was hovering above USD 110. I alos recall Dalton stating that at PE of 20 Sumatec was worth 40 sen.
And with this new field of late, the rights valuation I think is based again on USD 100.
Wonder if the rights exercise will ever proceed with weak Brent oil pricing. It may perhaps postponed till late 4th qtr when winter sets in and refiners are back in production creating demand.
Breakeven for shale is generally at USD 80. Saudi Arabia will have its Opec meeting in November and many are not sure if it would cut production. Some even reckon it may increase production and create such excess supply to drown out shale producers who may then cease to operate. But that may be a temporary measure or is it.
I am just wary but one never knows; it may defy all odds and run up.

caveat emptor.....no one is your keeper....immature investors have a habit of hanging their proverbial hat on others in times of misfortune.

deal could be good but investors need to know officially. bursamaster may be right about a huge o&g deal ...this though should be hinted at at least by the rto....if not your guess is as good as mine.

guys as much as i am optimistic of sumatec's potential I am also a realist. If the kazak assets were so wonderful why would he ever not keep it for himself through other means. Sumatec has good value but not to the outlandish valuations sometimes mentioned.

a wonderfully divided country...and there is this man Koon, who I am sure is altruistic with his views who speaks on behalf of the Chinese and in passing non Malaysa falls into the same racial trap himself. Lets not talk of chinese, indians, malays etc let us begin with those who are underprivileged etc. Malaysians have built a moat around themslevs and cannot see the forest for the trees, even the well meaning ones

This thread generartes so much emotion and wears patience thin. Ivory appears to be like Marmite either you like it or hate it but the language has to be moderated and we ought to keep names of countries out or be accused of racism. Let us keep the discussion civil and agree to disagree as a sign of maturity. Mud slinging only buries some good valuation points.

it will move after rights and will be a function of traffic volumes after that
2014-05-09 13:16 | Report Abuse
note that Keuro will have to fund the Wce.....first rights issue, then the traffic projection have to come through, the actual money is in the construction in the shorter term and IJM will be main beneficiary, and lastly this project has bedeviled us for more than a decade and thr rights have been postponed to end of year. There seems to be a problem with funding.

dont hold your breath.....mulpha and management need a revamp ....remove family interest and all would be fine. lee ming tee has one son in allied and the other in mulpha. fantastic assets that dont deliver and why ? family interest is a stumbling block . have heard this familiar ring since 2005 and many are still waiting for deliverance ...keep hoping for crumbs which family interest dish out.
good assets , poor governance, poor results
poor assets , good mgmt, ok results
unless family interest is removed mulpha will always be a load of rubbish

there are really no experts, its either insider news , luck or longer term investment on durable counters (very few ). so all those holding out to be advisers get real about the quality of your advice. It is the same in US and UK. Loads of BS experts , TA etc.
