think yourself and if u feel that u don't have adequate knowledge, go learn from better individuals and read research. Don't be scared off by naysayers. You encountered obstacles, find out the opportunities and not afraid of it otherwise u won't make a difference in your life and more importantly your investment/business.

hahahahaha u hav no TS shares but talking it down for wat? even u hav TS shares also u won't tell or u might buy because obviously with ur strong debateable participation here it shows that TS has garnered your interest.
2016-10-05 11:54 | Report Abuse
there are many possibilities if u are in a country with lots of land masses around. Singapore will never able to do large scale renewable projects. TS can have more downstream ventures instead of manufacturing solar panels for export markets. Do not be short sighted on other aspects of a business entity.
2016-10-05 11:50 | Report Abuse
calvin, let me ask u one simple question before i continue debate with u. Do u own any TS shares as of now?
2016-10-05 11:47 | Report Abuse
let me tell u why i'm confident to buy despite the retrenchment news broke out. First is the ringgit currency will depreciate further due to political factors and it will only make a u-turn after election which is still far away so this is good for exporter like TS. This is to the extent of foreseeable future thus TS can do their fx hedging accordingly. Secondly, it's still normal to have orders fluctuate to some extent due to weak global economies but solar panels and related products are still going strong and TS can export its products to US/Europe unlike solar panel manufacturers in China/Taiwan that are banned to export into those continents. Unless foreign trade policies are to be changed in the US otherwise i will remain invested in TS.

electricity grid rates charged to consumers in any particular countries are dictated by the governments of that country. The world economies are slowing down and governments have to raise taxes to sustain its own economies and unforeseen expenditures. WHat does IMF said today abt the global economy? if that's what u like to talk facts and all that.
my 2 cents advice to u, invest like a real businessman and seeing the bigger picture as a whole. if u don hav money to buy, it's better to back out. only people ready to pay will snap up the shares and wait.
2016-10-05 11:31 | Report Abuse
talk or not those who sold even today, there are someone who absorbed your shares. Do the math.
2016-10-05 11:30 | Report Abuse
gusheng, one must have good fund management practice.
2016-10-05 11:26 | Report Abuse
calvin, u cannot relate another example to TS because their business nature and the terms of venture are varying. Does not matter to me, i'm only a value investor and i like TS's solar business so i invest into it. Any lower price, i will buy in rounds. Time will show whether u are right/wrong.
2016-10-05 11:23 | Report Abuse
so what is the big hoohaa abt the retrenchment? i see this as not reflective of TS's businesses therefore i proceed to buy more at such bargain price.
2016-10-05 11:21 | Report Abuse
read these lines:
“TS Solartech recently announced the retrenchment of 180 operation staff recently hired on contract, who were on probation employment, and this is out of a total of 400 hired during that period. The affected staff were also offered alternative employment in another factory of the group,” she shared.
2016-10-05 11:19 | Report Abuse
pls note that the retrenched workers are being repositioned into another subsidiary of TS.
2016-10-05 11:19 | Report Abuse
this company is not a gimmick one. u can check back its years of history how the directors/management bringing the company to continuous growth to date. the selldown was due to a retrenchment of 200+ workers and sending its price down 20%+ so for value investor, this is an opportunity to grab cheap than its previous market price. i don regret to grab more at such price.
2016-10-05 11:12 | Report Abuse
calvin, i suggest u to buy now instead to talking it down so u can grab cheap. good deals don't come by often otherwise u won't even bother to comment so much here.

i hav strong confidence with TS management and directors. They brought steady growth and know how to run a company well. Little known to many but posted explosive earnings growth over the years not to mention recent quarters.
2016-09-30 10:16 | Report Abuse
skyrider, u talk so much negative abt TS. May u answer if u have shares in TS?
2016-09-30 10:14 | Report Abuse
TS management announced already. so as shareholders, your investment values are prioritized. Good or bad management? think like a real business owner before u invest into TS. I can foresee a massive green renewable energy investment theme to emerge in Bursa listed companies soon with PM Najib in talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Put the bets earlier and reap bigger gains.

as i said before, instant big cost savings which translates into more sustainability of profit earnings ahead.

We refer to the above article that appeared in New Straits Times on 27 September 2016, with particular reference to the statement in the 1st paragraph reproduced as follows:
“Another wave of retrenchments has apparently hit Penang’s manufacturing sector, with a sudden announcement to over 200 employees that they are out of jobs.”
We wish to clarify that the above measures undertaken by TS Solartech Sdn Bhd, a 50.69% owned subsidiary of Tek Seng Holdings Berhad (“Tek Seng” or “the Company”) is to optimize manpower to enhance productivity efficiency and to reduce its operating cost over the longer term.
The cost saving measures will not have any operational impact on TS Solartech Sdn Bhd or the Group. TS Solartech Sdn Bhd still has sufficient manpower of around 500 employees to fulfill the operation lines and is operating as usual in Penang Science Park. The Management of TS Solartech Sdn Bhd had resolved the issue by compensating monetarily. Despite that, the financial impact of manpower retrenchment is minimal.
The Company has and will always been looking to improve the Group’s performance and to increase its shareholders’ value.
This announcement is dated 29 September 2016.

i'm a hardcore value investor so any lower is the only time to pick up good fundamental shares below market price due to panic selling. Many those called themselves sifu hav failed over the time abt TS.
2016-09-30 09:51 | Report Abuse
sell if u not confident or interested. i'm still collecting. invest based on fundamentals. if u so easily shaken by some bad news, u will never gain. u can only buy cheaper when its sold below market price. if u don't believe me then we will talk about this in 1 month's time from now and it will be appreciated so much by then.

do u see what i been telling u all? selling out fast! PM Najib in talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel!! Germany is world's largest green renewable energy leader with highest output of megawatts! Do u not see the big pictures? Najib said to seek more technology transfer from Germany to Malaysia. Oil palm will do good also because Najib said to go all out to fight for trade barriers/restrictions with EU countries so we can export more to EU.

TS is cheap with brighter prospects. PM najib is in talk with German chancellor angela merkel and u guys should know germany is the largest producer of renewable energy. The green renewable energy theme will be in play in Bursa!
