In a Malaysia without Umno, Malays would be more civilised and would accept the plurality and diversity of this country, said former minister Datuk Zaid Ibrahim (pic)....his words are very true.

Just compare the first PM Tengku Abdul Rahman time and the last 2 PMs time and what do you find. Gone are the days when the different races will mingle among each other. To hell with UMNO.

It is the humility of the Tok Guru that has kept the majority of Kelantanese happy -- not only the Malays but all races in the state.

That is the reason why they have kept as their menteri besar for three decades.

Maybe it's time BN politicians learn from Tok Guru?
Shame on you, Umno, go seek advice from Tok Guru

Datuk Seri Najib Razak claims that Umno's political journey is akin to the late Neson Mandela's struggle. Former Bersih chief Datuk S Ambiga described Najib's claim as "laundering racism by using Mandela's name".
Read on to find out why Umno doesn’t even come close to the world-renowned freedom fighter.

If Mandela were in Malaysia today, would he stand by Umno's side?

On the OPPOSITE ends, while THOUSANDS of Malaysians whom MAJORITY were Malays themselves were suffering from the floods trying to save themselves from drowning...

THIS is what was going on at PWTC during the 'Perhimpunan Agung UMNO' ( PAU) which by right could/should've been postponed where UMNO MALAYS whom mostly are infamous for their Two-Faced Hypocrite behaviors gather to shout 'Hidup Melayu' and merely to TALK about HELPING the Malays while thousands out there risk drowning.

I'm SURE the Band and the Singer was PAID for as well right???

UMNO @$$‪#‎0LE‬$! Don't even know 'PRIORITIES' yet want to LEAD the country and call themselves the ONLY hope for Malays? Hope-LESS is more like it.

The Chinese DON'T NEED your forgiveness - PKR's Shamsul slams ARROGANT M'cca chief minister

The Chinese DON'T NEED your forgiveness - PKR's Shamsul slams ARROGANT M'cca chief minister

Malacca Chief Minister Idris Haron is arrogant for saying that he has forgiven Chinese voters for refusing to back BN, says PKR Youth chief Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin.

Shamsul said Idris' remarks indicated that BN had indeed faulted the Chinese voters for its poor performance at the polls despite denying any political retaliation against the community.

His forgiveness is dishonest and even arrogant. The act of blaming the Chinese shows that Idris (right) does not respect the rakyat's democratic right in electing who they deem fit to be in Parliament and the state assembly," he said in a statement today.

He added that BN's long tenure has given the ruling coalition an impression that it was undefeatable and bred "arrogant leaders" such as Idris.

Shamsul, who is also Bukit Katil MP, reiterated that Pakatan Rakyat garnered 52 percent of the popular vote which comprised of people from all races.

On Friday, Idris had said that he was prepared to forgive Chinese voters even though they had abandoned the ruling coalition.

"So as far as Malacca goes, if they want forgiveness, forgiveness I shall give them. What's more important is that they be with BN," he was quoted as saying. - Mkini

Why not remove ministers and replace with Rosmah, says former NST chief editor

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak should consider appointing his wife as Minister of Special Affairs as she seems to be adept at carrying out the duties of several ministers, said former New Straits Times group editor-in-chief Datuk A. Kadir Jasin (pic).

Kadir, in commenting on the recent Umno general assembly, said from the various reports on the event, the most popular topic was Najib's public praise of his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, for her "good deeds" to the country.

In his winding up speech yesterday, Najib highlighted two instances when Rosmah had helped Malaysia. One was when she contacted the Egyptian president's wife in securing the release of a Malaysian student who was arrested on suspicion of being a spy.

The second incident was when Malaysian students were stranded in Egypt during the Arab uprising. Najib said Rosmah had used her good relations with the Saudi Arabian royal family to allow the students to enter the country from Egypt although they did not have visas.

Kadir said based on the revelations by Najib, Putrajaya should re-evaluate the positions of several Cabinet ministers including Datuk Seri Anifah Aman (Foreign Affairs), Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed (International Trade and Industry), Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (Education) and Datuk Rohani Abdul Karim (Women, Family and Community Development).

"It is very apparent that none of these ministers are as effective as Rosmah in handling international crisis," Kadir said in his blog posting today.

He suggested that these "non-performing" ministers be dropped, which would also see a reduction in the number of ministeries. This, he said, would also save Putrajaya a lot of money.

Although the 13th general election was over, Kadir said that Najib and Rosmah's supporters could push for her to be appointed as a Senator before she is made a minister.

"Even the prime minister's position might not be beyond Rosmah's reach if she can win the trust and support of the public," Kadir noted.

"Once she has been made a minister, then nobody can accuse Najib and the Cabinet of abuse of power for allowing Rosmah to use government facilities. The perfect Cabinet portfolio for Rosmah would be Minister of Special Affairs," Kadir dryly remarked.

Kadir then expressed his disappointment at Federal Territories Umno delegate Affandi Zahari for accusing all men, except Najib, of not loving their wives. Kadir said he was completely against the statement made by Affandi.

In a debate at the general assembly, Affandi had defended Rosmah's use of a government jet when she attended a business forum in Doha, Qatar last month.

Affandi said it was better for Rosmah to use the government jet in order to give Najib peace of mind. He raised the prospect of the emotional stress Najib would have to endure if something untoward happened to Rosmah while on a commercial flight.

Acknowledging it was more expensive to fly with an executive jet, Affandi still insisted that critics should look at the issue from a safety standpoint.

"We must look at the issue of Rosmah flying on the government jet from a safety point of view. Can you imagine the emotional stress Najib would suffer if anything happened to Rosmah? He loves his wife, not like other men," Affandi had reportedly.

Kadir pointed out that it was fine if Affandi wanted to defend Najib and Rosmah as that was the duty of a delegate during the Umno general assembly.

"But if he did say that other men did not love their wives, then that is a terrible insult," he added. - December 8, 2013.

Umno leaders don’t give a toss about ordinary Malaysians, says Nurul Izzah

Umno leaders and members are living in a comfort zone without a care for the current issues affecting Malaysians, said Parti Keadilan Rakyat's Nurul Izzah Anwar (pic) today.

The PKR vice-president expressed dismay that issues like declining education standards, rising cost of living or threats to the nation’s security and sovereignty were never brought up or discussed at the recently concluded Umno general assembly.

Nurul, who is also the Lembah Pantai MP, said Umno was only interested in consolidating its grip on Putrajaya and introducing economic policies in various guises which only benefited the elite in Umno.

"At a time when the public, including the Malays, are being increasingly burdened by the rising cost of living, Umno leaders and delegates are busy talking about how to consolidate their hold on Putrajaya," she said in a statement today.

"The future prospects of Malays and Malaysia look bleak under Umno if they do not implement inclusive national reconciliation efforts."

The release recently of the 2012 Programme for International Assessment (Pisa) poll results by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) showed that Malaysia was lagging far behind its neighbours. Malaysia ranked 52nd out of 65 countries.

"How would Malaysian parents feel when they find out that 11- and 12-year-olds from Singapore, South Korea and Vietnam are on a par with our 15-year-olds? The Government's failure to address this problem points towards a bleak future for the next generation.

"Putrajaya has failed to increase the standard of our educational excellence to enable our pupils to remain competitive in the global arena. What our children will inherit from us is low income and a culture of getting into debt just to support themselves with the increasingly higher costs of living.

"It looks like, in the future, Malay children will require the assistance of their parents by living at home, borrowing from their parents and sharing vehicles. Does Umno think that quality education is not important?”

She also hit out at Umno president and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak for repeating the mantra – "short-term pain for long-term gain" and "our path towards becoming a high-income nation".

Nurul Izzah hit out at Umno leaders for ignoring the rising cost of living which is hitting the public.

While acknowledging that credit ratings agency Moody's had upgraded Malaysia's outlook from stable to positive, she said it had been based on improved prospects for fiscal consolidation and reforms.

However, Nurul Izzah noted that none of the Umno delegates had asked an important question at the Umno general assembly. Why did global ratings agency Fitch Ratings revise Malaysia's sovereign credit rating outlook from stable to negative?

"Not a single Umno leader or delegate raised the issue of leakage, wastage, corruption and economic mismanagement. Are the public paying for these shortcomings in the form of the goods and services tax, increased fuel costs, removal of sugar subsidy, higher electricity tariffs and City Hall's assessment rates?

"Because of the overspending and leakages by Putrajaya, taxpayers have to suffer. All the additional revenue Putrajaya hoped to raise is to increase Malaysia's credit rating and to help the elite few in Umno through the Bumiputera Economic Empowerment Agenda."

She said the public was not blind, as former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad recently remarked that the level of corruption under the Najib administration was frightening compared with his time in office.

Nurul Izzah said the chest-thumping during the Umno general assembly for 1Melayu indicated the paranoia in the party.

Instead of focusing on issues of national security and sovereignty, the delegates and party leaders were more interested in the 1Melayu slogan.

"The recent statutory declaration by former city CID chief Datuk Mat Zain Ibrahim regarding the Pulau Batu Puteh case, the intrusion by armed Sulu gunmen into Lahad Datu, the indiscriminate issuance of identity cards and the murder of a Taiwanese tourist on Pom Pom island did not even warrant a mention at the assembly.

"Are national security and the country's sovereignty no longer important to Umno? No one mentioned that the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA) will be a new form of economic colonisation." – December 8, 2013.

It will be Malay tsunami next, Utusan warns Umno

BY LEE SHI-IAN
December 08, 2013
UPDATED: Dec 08, 2013 12:42 pm

'Útusan Malaysia' accused Chinese voters of deserting Barisan Nasional in the May elections. 'Útusan Malaysia' accused Chinese voters of deserting Barisan Nasional in the May elections. PAS and PKR will change their strategies to garner more support from Malays and Bumiputeras to create a "Malay tsunami" in the next general election, columnist Awang Selamat said today.

After the "Chinese tsunami" in the 13th General Election, as described by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, Awang predicted the outcome of the 14th polls would revolve around the Malay votes.

"Umno will have a fierce fight on their hands from PAS and PKR in order to win support from the Malay majority. PAS and PKR are set to change their game plan," Awang said in his Sunday column in “Utusan Malaysia”.

"The Umno supreme council needs to be humble as they will have nobody to blame but themselves if the party fails to retain Putrajaya in the next polls."

The party's mouthpiece, “Utusan Malaysia”, reminded the supreme council members not to focus on their personal ambitions to the extent of forgetting Umno's fundamental principles.

Awang, the pseudonym for the newspaper's collective editorial team, said the supreme council members would be held responsible if Umno failed to defend its political position in the next general election.

"Be wary, while Umno is strong, it is not invincible. Everyone must take up the struggle and fight for Umno to be supported, especially by Malays and Bumiputeras," Awang said.

Following the 13th General Election, Umno president Najib blamed Pakatan for the Chinese tsunami, saying they had preyed on racial sentiments to win the votes from Malaysia's second biggest ethnic group.

“Utusan Malaysia” also followed Najib's lead in blaming the Chinese voters, coming out with the front-page headline of "Apa lagi Cina mau?" (What more do the Chinese want?).

In the May polls, Barisan Nasional won 133 of the 222 parliamentary seats, losing seven seats to Pakatan compared with the 2008 polls.

Barisan also lost the popular vote, securing 47% compared with the opposition's 51%. – December 8, 2013.
