@taciturn - yep, you caught that one. :)
The little bird chirped that the Sand Man controls the sand concessions in Johor, and is especially active in the Kota Tinggi area. so, a good ally to have if you are involved in a sand-intensive industry ;)
anyway, good friday to you sir - hope you didn't let that troll pull you down to his level; he actually suggested that i should brush up on my educational qualifications so as to one day write as powderfully as he does, and perhaps even reach his level of civility and grace.

psst. a little bird also told me that Daeng is The Sand Man ;)

some free legal advise for you today, kukuman

@kukuman (cc. Taciturn) - no one is anonymous behind the screen of a computer; the IP address is very easily traceabe. All the requirements for a defamation suit are already there - he has lowered the standing of the director (Vincent Leaw, who has not been found to be involved in any wrong doing at all), in the eyes of right-thinking members of the public, and is communicated to many third parties (i.e., users of this very public forum).
It also cannot be factually substantiated.

'to win, one must always seek to see the unseen, and hear the unheard' - master crawler
tongue-in-cheek, of course :D happy friday people!

@splendid_ignorance - guess we are in a similar position. we all can see how the market has reacted to RAPID FID and the huge land sales (by doing nothing). so, it will have to take quite something to move this counter. not getting my hopes high also; just writing it off as a bad investment and lesson learnt
my hunch is that this stock is shunned by fund managers (hard to explain to your boss or clients why you're dabbling in a tainted company); and retail players have not been able to move the price at all on their own

sheer speculation here - only the very well-connected can get things at a hefty discount, right? remember the Johor sultan's other big deal with Berjaya?

announcement is out on the off-market transaction - looks like its part of the HoA settlement? wonder who is the one picking up the shares though.
2014-04-08 16:48 | Report Abuse
to be honest, i'm getting really frustrated with this counter already

taciturn: thanks - enlightening as always ;) HSL has much better financials too, I have to say
2014-04-08 10:33 | Report Abuse
closest listed proxy is HSL which is a strictly Sarawak counter i believe?

one thing we know, they are bad 'thieves' ;). that should be a good sign for investors. if they are truly professional swindlers, they wouldn't have done it so painfully obviously (buying co. registered under own name). so, to play contrarian here, Benalec might be a more transparent company than others out who bleed year after year for god-knows-why ;)

oh my, his munificence Kukuman, the learned and the wise, has taken it upon himself to grant a royal pardon!

indeed, no one more 'qualify' than you, kukuman

thank you BEN_168. I actually am sadly, negative about this stock's prospects also (holding at a loss), but what I cannot accept is his thuggish and repugnant behaviour, as if he is the only one qualified to give comments in this forum. if this is the product of a distinguished education and upbringing, i really have nothing else to say.

kukuman, again, i think we can all see quite clearly who the education system has failed on - ah such fluency of language, such poetry and delicacy of manner and grace in you which i obviously did not receive.
by the way, i have only jumped in just because you have shown an utter lack of manners to other forum members. share your opinion, yes, but with a modicum of sense and basic courtesy, please. to put it simply, so you may understand, you have been a rude and very arrogant person.
ps: you may need to tell me which education system i should refer myself to, so as to write as powderfully as you have.

Kuku, going from your histrionics against Savvy, i guess we can all see who is the rational one here lah. Don't need to throw tantrums here, top bestest number 1 investor Kukuman sir. Didn't your mother teach you manners?
By the way, 'I really is', is epic lah.

My humble self, paling in the shade of Kukuman the smartest and top bestest number 1 investor's magnificent munificence, can only venture to help answer #2 - bamboo binoculars and holding 2 coconuts are definitely better than looking at numbers when investing.

gearing quite high leh - but i suppose if you consider it an O&G instead of an 'industrials' counter, then its still at a 'reasonable' level
2014-03-27 22:23 | Report Abuse
he spends more time than the 'rubbish collectors' on 'rubbish'. weird, isn't it?
2014-03-25 23:27 | Report Abuse
when it equals to asset value lor. should be around .65? very high gearing still though, like all of Tony's companies.

taciturn, you are right on this one. it's a troubling picture, isn't it?

i think the the big catalyst will be when KWAP buys Benalec's shares again and resume being a major shareholder. KWAP seemingly sold off their stake to punish Ben for their management issues
2014-03-25 13:48 | Report Abuse
just fyi, Benalec has already spent 12m MYR on the EIA (read the annual report); i don't believe they will 'burn' this money, and involve the Johor royalty, if they know it will come to naught lah. unless they really have nothing better to do.

@Saturn - sorry, my mistake! it IS the Hornet - i was mistaken that the F18 was the newer jet (number v. high seems more advanced than F15/16 Fighting Cock mah)

YangBerhormat - that is... a very disturbing thought. maybe we didn't not react, but over-reacted... damn.

Not talking on stocks here. in my personal capacity i avoid AA as much as possible. if MAS is dangerous, AA will be more so as they have to focus on cutting costs and turnaround time of planes. cheaper AND safer never comes together my friends. if so, China would rule the world already just through 'made in China'
2014-03-09 13:50 | Report Abuse
both will be pummeled come Monday - AAX and MAS will kena hantam kau kau on the stock markets
2014-03-09 13:49 | Report Abuse
MAS tak boleh, AA lagi tak boleh lah. AA - faster turnaround = more fatigue (plane and crew)
