Truth be told, Harry & Meghan left UK for US completely of their own accord, because they could not handle the UK media racism.

Truth be told, William himself was not that profoundly favourably inclined to the idea of his brother marrying a mixed-raced woman. He wasn't thrilled at all.

In fact when Harry first publicly announced his by then unsuppressable love for Meghan, William kind of more or less advised Harry to shut up & make darn bloddy sure of his private feeling first before speaking out about it to the public.

In other words, just reading between the lines, William was then still kind of hoping that Harry's ardour for Meghan would cool off with the passing of time, and that Harry would eventually find & settle down with a white girl.
