KUALA LUMPUR: Opcom Holdings Bhd’s subsidiary, Opcom Cables Sdn Bhd, has received its third contract from Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) in half a year, this time valued at RM67.8mil.
The fibre-optic cable maker told Bursa Malaysia that it had negotiated and accepted the letter of award from TM on Tuesday to install, test and commission a line plant network project, including associated civil works, for a three-year period starting Oct 1, 2015.
Last month TM appointed 23 schedule-of-rates contractors as its main partners for line plant network projects worth RM1.2bil.
Opcom said the latest award was expected to contribute positively towards Opcom Group’s earnings and net assets for the period of the award.
The three TM contracts won since May are worth RM282.24mil.
Opcom Cables, in which Opcom Holdings owns a 70% stake, is a joint venture with Sweden’s Ericsson Network Technologies AB.
