Green Ocean's flagship brand NoveLin is a palm-based cooking oil that is resistant to crystalisation at almost freezing room temperatures. While palm oil used to be practically impossible to sell to countries with cold climates, Green Ocean has been able to export its cooking oil products to central and northern parts of the mainland, Europe and the United States.

The company's advanced filtering systems reduce the saturated oil content of its products in accordance with the recommendations of the American Heart Association and the World Health Organization. With its reduced fat content, Green Ocean's NoveLin oil still retains its vitamin E and other nutritional values without the use of chemicals and other additives.

Green Ocean offers its premium-quality cooking oil at competitive prices, which has allowed it to form partnerships with Sime Darby in Malaysia and leading South Korean food conglomerate CJ CheilJedang. The company is also looking at forming a partnership on the mainland.

Extensive research and development (R&D) powers Green Ocean's innovations. "We believe we'll be very successful because we focus all our efforts on R&D," Lee says. "Anybody with an interest in the commercialisation of this technology can be a good partner."

Green Ocean will continue to develop its health-based product range and is looking at other ways to efficiently use palm oil by-products. These alternative uses include margarine and soil stabiliser production.
