Though it happened close to a century ago. the tragic passing away of Phar Lap could be disease induced especially running in this classic race on foreign land. Or would have been foul play, with slow release carcinogenics administered, that took its toll days after the race Can only speculate: new stable facilities, new stable hand and elements of horse security, whatsoever. Sad, of the demise of only a 6 year old legend.

KK, More of a warming up, run of the mill event, looks like nothing serious really. My only distaste is the issue of running to the ground for Golden Monkey and Mr Malik. The horse racing scenario in MRA and Singapore is pathetic, that big money events are scarce, thus we witness GM and MM in pursuit of races such as lion City cup over 1200m, which is not their pet distance. Thus these horses have to undergo very rigorous retraining and adjustments to accommodate and mold them into speed machines over these sprinting distances. More so for the prize money and coveted title than the welfare and longevity performance of the horse. Typical ROI business approach. The video is run of the mill event. while the horses are being planned to be the mill run to the ground.

Perhaps Malaysian horse racing fans and punters will never get to see live, as MRA will never have the capacity to attract GM or MM to compete in our shores, simply becos prize money is small by virtue of exchange rates.

The movie Seabiscuit is invoked to memory. Could Australia do without horse racing, be it the Melbourne cup, or whatever? @tommyleong2000, not sure the field is rather strong with 2022 horse of the year Lim's Ko.... , Super Salute, Steve Burridge's prize horse Mr Malek and a few others.Golden Monkey is a slow starter and that's why the owners have to engage Hugh Bowman in this1200m sprint Cup.

QR should be out anytime. Whether there is gold or fool's gold insiders should know by now. If there is a lot of gold, insiders should be quietly buying like crazy and if it is fool's gold, should have off loaded the bulk of their holdings already. Show me the gold! Also many bystanders are looking too. If the gold is there I am sure players like Pohkong or Tomei would be interested to buy a small stake too. RM5-10 million to them is small change.
