2day another last minute sell down. 2mil shares sold at 3.82. Notice that no transaction done at 3.83 - 3.87. Is this a closed door transaction? Bjtoto bought back share?

Was the sell down related to foreign fund exit? We might see more sell down til Auguest since QE tapering is expected to complete in September. Does Bjtoto cash rich enough to handle it. What do u think about our dividend outlook?

Posted by KinSoon Kok > 2014-02-28 18:30 | Report Abuse

In my opinion cap depreciation is just temporary issue. If u bought something cheap u won' sell it cheaply. U'll sell at reasonable price. V.Tan is skillful businessman.

I don't make money out of it without cap appreciation.
This is the situation. Invested rm100,000. Depreciated 8.6% or Rm8,600. Collected dividend Rm1,450.

If u bought a shop u don't value the premises every year to figure out your capital gain (share price). Wat u care is the rental (dividen). U never complaint tatvu do not make money if u do not revalue your premises every year.

In share market, you don't want to put money in those that lose money, theres opportunities lost too. don't you think so?

Posted by KinSoon Kok > 2014-02-28 19:36 | Report Abuse

Toto is not 4 cap gain. As u can see its historical price fluctuates around 4.

One should expect increase in profits the CNY season i.e. 31 Jan & some spillover to 30 Apr quarters. As far as dividend payment, I'm not certain as to whether they can be generous since a lot has been spent on share buybacks.

From latest shares buy back announcement, % treasury shares over total outstanding shares is 2.26%.

They can distribute shares dividend of 1:43 (1 treasury share for every 43 shares held) (calc: (100-2.26) / 2.26 = 43.2).

With current shares price of RM3.82, that's equivalent to a dividend of 8.9sen per share (=3.82/43).

Bursa announcement indicates a lot of share buyback up to Mar 08 and then it stopped. At that time, BToto shares hovered around 4.80 - 5.10. In Jul 09, there was a massive share distribution of 1/14. Buybacks resumed in Dec 09 i.e. 1.75 yrs later.

Share price tanked after that. My sincere hope is that BToto cancels the 30.6 m shares bought back. It's good for EPS, Div yield and share price.

Theoretically cancellation of treasury shares is better but psychologically distributing treasury shares is more pleasing. Same psychology as Bonus Issue, nothing is really given out, each shareholder still owns the same % of shares but many shareholders are excited over it :-)

Gambling is a business tat doesn't need much asset. NTA isn't important in this context. No way u can get 3.80 bargain. Those bought at 3.80 have been queuing for months.

Posted by KinSoon Kok > 2014-03-02 20:58 | Report Abuse

U just need a table, chairs n a set of mah Jong then u can start making money. The no. of gambler is much more important than asset.

One only looks at NTA with the intention to liquidate assets. B Toto's valuation should be based on future earnings & cash flows.
Share price under pressure I believe due to impact of GST. Some uncertainties as whether B. Toto would be exempted or if required to pay then how it's calculated.

FYE2014 - interim dividends totalling 10%
FYE2013 - total dividends 18.5% (price range about 4.05 that 4.6%)
FYE2012 - total dividends 27% (price range above RM4.2 that's 6.5%)

2013 bjtoto awarded share holders bonus share 1:45 besides the above stated cash dividend. The EX date for the bonus share was 15thJan. The share price corresponded to the EX date was around 4.20. Dividing 4.20 to 45 shares u get cash equivalent of 9.33cents. Adding 9.33 cents to the above stated dividend u get 27.83 cent. 2013 share price range from 4.05-4.20. U get dividend yield rage from 6.87%-6.63%.

My friend selling Toto ticket told me that Toto may start selling WORLD CUP FOOTBALL BETTING this year. If this is true, BJToto profit will increase. BJToto share should go up soon after announcement. So please wait for good news.

Is it possible 2 legalize betting on sport? There will b corruption among players. Football federation will protest strongly.

neohts, it’s not likely. With the Pakatan Rakyat so strong, it's impossible for the government to further legalised gambling.

Not only Toto. There're a few high div yeild counters with substaintial foreign investors experience heavy selling lately.
