GenM says US$600m Bimini lawsuit won't impact its financial results, operations.

UALA LUMPUR (Oct 17): Genting Malaysia Bhd (KL:GENM) said the lawsuit filed by RAV Bahamas Ltd, seeking over US$600 million (RM2.57 billion) in damages related to Resorts World Bimini's operations, will not materially impact the group's financial results or operations.

“There are no expected losses, other than the cost of defence, on the basis that GAI [Genting Americas Inc] firmly believes that the complaint is entirely baseless and without merit,” GenM said on Thursday in a reply to queries by Bursa Malaysia regarding the circumstances behind the lawsuit.
The casino operator said the group is currently preparing a comprehensive legal response, which will be filed with the court in the coming weeks.
GenM described the claims as "malicious and baseless", and contended that RAV Bahamas and its principals are attempting to extract an unjustified payment and inflict reputational harm.
GenM also responded to Bursa’s queries on the issue by saying that GAI, which is incorporated in Delaware, is not classified as a major subsidiary under the Bursa Malaysia Main Market listing requirements.

GenM said the total cost of investment in GAI is consolidated within the group financial statements, and is “not publicly available on a standalone basis”, being merged under one account with its operations in the US and the Bahamas.

The combined operations in the US and the Bahamas contributed RM1.88 million to the group's total revenue in the financial year ended Dec 31, 2023.

Pretty happy with our stay at this hotel, but would not recommend more than 2 nights. Bimini is a very small island with few things to do. If you are a beach person this might be the place for you. I’m not but still enjoyed the views, bars, and atmosphere. Service is hit or miss, rooms are comfortable (had issue with toilet that was fixed right away), food is good but SUPER expensive, same with drinks, the resort is clean, and the gym is small but well equipped. Kept fairly quiet and secure (had a couple with baby as neighbors and could hear it cry sometimes—no biggie but walls are thin). Would recommend renting a golf cart to explore. The Club House is nice and worth a visit. Be ready to wait at check in.

Trader already declared numerous times Im not shorting this stock, I have never shorted this stock and I have no access to an account that can short bursa stocks. Perma bulls stuck high could have benefited from trader's numerous prompt exit warnings this year at 5.20, 4.80+, 4.50 zones. Mushi n MC lose money not my problem lo, trader already gave out free prompt and solid trading advice then. You didnt believe trader's prompt exit warning calls then. A shortie will never tell you to exit at those price peaks, extra competition when shortie trying to accumulate and execute shorts at high price. Think abt it. Geeez.

ATK a ghost or not you decide lor. Hope some traders / trader cum investors here have read and exited promptly near the 5.20 top.

Then buy again at around 4.50 zone, exit at around 4.8+ zone.

Its not difficult to trade this stock. I started buying when price was 2.97. When I stopped trading this stock long time ago, i think its equivalent to profit of selling the stock at over 8.00.

I find online trolls very stooopid and lack the ability to further improve themselves. When ATK meet successful investors and stock traders, ATK pluck up courage be "thick-skin" and go chat up with them, be their friend. You will be surprised how friendly and helpful they usually are. Most of them are willing to share if they like you and find you trustworthy. I ask them questions and learn. What is their view? How did they do it? Whats in their mind when they are putting in big investments or when they are trading large positions? ATK is also a human. I have my own internal demons (greed and fear) when I trade stocks or invest big in Taurx.

Last month ATK attended a stock trading tournament event (with 1000+ participants). After the event during lunch time, I walked up to the trading tournament Champion and introduced myself. I asked abt his trading strategies, the indicators he prefers, how he spot big trends early, etc. We had a good conversation and exchanged numbers. Then I realise this stock trading Champion is also a fellow member of a trading kaki groupchat that Im also in. What a coincidence.

Learning to be successful means learning from the successful people how they think and how they translate thoughts into actions
