cheap can be cheaper. When people said buy at 50c, price can drop further to 25c. so really no need argue here. buy 2, 1, 0.50... actually all are same when the stock still bearish. So no need happy on 50c. May be that one is just another knife. So chai.
if you know Parkson has losses this coming QR then you will be millionaire alrdy, which I bet you aren't because you have so much free time to create this account to bash up Parkson since a year ago.
Anyone have anything to say about the USD500m bonds due in May 2018 by the China Parkson? Moody's and Fitch have Parkson Retail Group at a terrible rating of B- and B3.
Parkson is still in net cash after the bond value is deducted. At such low price and the underlying assets that they owned, many of which have yet to be revalued, I think it's safe to buy with spare cash and hold. TTB cannot be a fool to hold on to Parkson if the share has no hope, cheers.
scam yet now new scam from jjptr offering 35% each month I think by 2nd month tutup again, those who kena quickly report police before he run away to rio de jenerio
ICap still holding Parkson shares at above RM2. TTB cannot be so dumb to hold if he thinks Parkson will not rebound. So, hang on tight to your shares, cheers.
Keep a close watch on the result announcement of it's two subsidiaries. They always report first. If they are positive, then Parkson will also have positive results, Cheers.
I mean Parkson HK also up around 10% today. So Parkson Bhd still has room to run. It is indeed considered undervalued relative to the underlying values of the two listed subsidiaries (SOP with 30% holding co. discount).
I think best idea for Parkson is to just sell off their entire China business (they can get a very substantial amount, just for the prime buildings), then de-list SG, and consolidate the SEA operations under Parkson Bhd.
^^Referring to the guys above, I am actually a long-time Parkson fan. I buy my shirts and pants from there for many, many years. Reasonable price. No fuss returns/exchanges when things don't fit. No hanky panky T&Cs for their vouchers.
I just wish they brought online shopping to SEA. I already know the shirt + size I want...I rather buy from my home.
I don't do short term. Sorry. I invested on fundamentals and will keep until the fundamentals are fulfilled and will sell to cut loss if the fundamentals change adversely.
That's the problem with Malaysian investors. When low nobody want saying it not good only can drop. Actually to make money in stocks not buy low and sell high? How to make money when buy high(eg AirAsia, Ekovest, etc) to sell lower later?
Parkson's fundamentals are actually really bad, that's why it's selling at 0.28X P/BV. They are rated B-/B3 by the rating agencies. Their debt:equity ratio is at 1.7:1. Their current ratio is below one.
Parkson has got absolutely terrible fundamentals, which is why it is so "cheap". Find me another stock trading at 0.28X P/BV? But I'm willing to take my chances that Parkson will ride this out in China and SEA. It's a risky bet. This is nothing like AirAsia at 80 cents, which still had solid fundamentals and a P/BV of about 0.8X at the time.
Long story short, Parkson is a gamble with poor fundamentals, but with the downside already heavily priced into the stock valuations. So you can kinda say it is gambling with the odds in your favor, to some extent. Allocate some money to this company, but don't go all in cause it may not end pretty. Set an exit if in 2 quarters time their balance sheet deteriorates even further and they fail to achieve any kind of Same Store Growth in China and SEA.
Don't disagree, Parkson is past it's prime. But if Parkson continues to exist, albeit with lower profitability, the current valuations are unjustified. It's either Parkson bungkus, or turns things somewhat around and the share price doubles/triples.
When the turnaround kicks-in, there will be no chance to buy cheap. The price will be re-rated up very quickly. Just wait and see. People talk about e-commerce and buying online as if people around the world will stop going to departmental stores. Then do what at home? Be rational and imagine if the world will be devoid of departmental stores and F&B outlets in such places. Are these people really serious when they make such comments or do they have different agenda to promote their online biz?
Tell me a business or a company that has never ever experience a slow-down in this world. Parkson is no different. It has experienced operational losses for the past 5 qtrs. Its not the end of the world. It happened due to China's economy taking a breather after many years of double digit growth. All businesses have ups and down. The question is? Are you going to buy ahead of a turnaround or are you a trader who trades shares that are in play daily. Then, this is not the share for you.
phb downside only 60-70sen now if all goes to zero but i dont think it will. if u buy airasia now downside could be RM1 or higher. sure, airasia might rally some more but upside limited now. i think phb is good for long term
