pakatan - spore govt long time ago aldy abolished pension system for govt servants.
imagine Malaysia got the biggest ratio of govt servant VS rakyat !!! ....
how long can you feed them?
after they die, their partner (wife / hubby) is still entitled to receive the salary from the govt... do u know that!

You go to private sector - u got all these? where got pension? by age of 55 or 60 ... u have to retire but live on your own EPF or have to find a small business or find another lower pay easy job... but in Malaysia, old ppl can't work in MCD, or pizza hut... where we can go?

If Parkson stores close not only Parkson workers will be jobless. Shopping malls business eg eateries biz also will be affected thereby even create more joblessness. Even Star will lose advertisement revenue, etc. If Pakatan takeover we can help in 3 ways:
1) Government funds must buy Parkson
2) Give certain tax exemptions since Parkson create a lot of jobs
3) Ask government servants support buying Parkson products through voucher given

Typically analysts ("experts") use earnings and future earnings based valuation methods. FOR EXAMPLE, if you rent a house valued at RM1mil for rm1500 per month, the valuation on the house is based on the rm1500 monthly income or RM18,000 annually. If you only collect RM15,000 a year or collect nothing at all due to renovation cost etc, they revise the house price downwards. Of course the best way is to look at the company's balance sheet or their net assets AND at the same time figure out if they can continue collecting their "rent" UNLESS the company behaves like an investment company that buys and sells property as well as having an operating business that utilises these properties.

Some of these analysts are not fit to be in this profession. For instance, they tell you that Parkson's target price is revised downwards to 0.51 for 2017 due to further losses although the house estimate the company to turnaround from 2018 and 2019 with profit of 6 Sen and 7 Sen respectively. So, only dumb investors will follow them as they may want to ram it rock low for the stockist to buy for the house. These are the type of low standard analysts we have in this country aka Malaysia Boleh.

Have faith Steve. I bought at RM0.64, I'm steady ni. It will take time, but should Parkson turnaround, you're looking at a multibagger here. Just wait. Cut loss when it drops below RM0.50.

Posted by Vincent1368 > 2017-05-31 16:54 | Report Abuse

Parkson is fighting losing battle against Ecommerce. Only way out is to convert to F&B or close shop and sell all then distribute surplus cash to all. Better attend parkson AGM and tell William Cheng to change strategy.

Vincent1368, it is in these darkest days that the best returns can be achieved. To me, compared to 3 months ago...the fundamentals have not changed...in fact looking at PRGL's results, the fundamentals have improved. So I'll be the first to admit if I made a shitty investment...but in the words of Graham and Lynch...you don't sell unless the story changes.

I'm in two minds as to whether I should double down or not...cause I do see some other promising investment opportunities too.

Really good buy as Parkson drops below 0.60. The price is currently heading towards the silly analyst recommendation of 0.51. I'm sure PRGL will turn the corner soon. Don't forget the big middle class ability to spend in China. Very huge market to tap. Besides, its in net cash, generating positive cash flow and selling only 0.24 times its book value currently. Do not forget a number of its malls in China has yet to be revalued and is carrying the original cost. Any long term investor that believe in the Parkson turnaround story will buy without hesitation. I believe TTB is still holding tightly to their shares and this should provide some form of comfort, cheers.

What baffles me is that PRGL is at a 52-week high and Parkson is at an ALL TIME LOW? I mean there's too much disconnect here. As PRGL has continued rising in the past 6 months, Parkson Bhd has been gradually trending downwards.

Now, who is more right? Parkson Bhd's investors or PGRL's investors?

Fascinating to see how this plays out in the coming months/years. Certain that I will love lots of invaluable lessons from this, no matter if I end up making a ton of money or losing a ton of it.

if even Aeon is struggling, Parkson is hopeless case.

Parkson rewards us 10-15% PRGL. Balance you can keep. CIMB also do the same with CIMB Niaga . Now up over 50% from RM 4 just last year.

PRGL up by another 7 cents so far, Parkson Bhd is down 0.005 sen. I mean, WTF? How can there be such a divergence? I feel like this is a classic case of a mispriced security...but I don't have the guts to go all in. I am going to "wait and see" and learn...but I may regret not throwing in everything at 0.575.
