ahmoi. market wise the same. one of the main reasons ppl do a par value reduction is because they wanna do a rights issue at a lower price because par value is basically the lowest price that a company can issue. e.g. say the par value is 1.00 but for some reason the market price is 0.80. this company wants to raise capital using a rights issue but it can't issue at 0.50 or 0.60 (since rights issue is always issued at a discount to current market price). so in order to issue the rights issue, it has to do a par value reduction to 0.50.
in this case, the rights issue is at 0.50 which is the par value before reduction so this isn't the reason they went ahead with this. it is more likely to write off the loss in books as stated earlier
stephen. like i said, there will be no impact theoretically on the reduction in par value. it is a balance sheet adjustment.
i am in it for the medium term. am not aware of your risk preference or the kind of term you are looking at. i personally think it will be difficult to breach the 0.75 target but that's just my opinion. set your cut loss target if you are worried
I think you are of the opinion that the par value gives a certain indication to the market value. I personally feel it doesn't. Valuations are based on the Net tangible assets or book value of the equity not the par value. i can have a par value of 0.25, 0.50 or 1.00 but if the net assets i have doesn't change, from a valuation perspective, the company is worth the same. In valuation you judge the multiple on book value not par value. to me par value is an accounting concept
Splendid got it right! Par value can be a cheat sheet! Nothing more than accounting treatment! So no point to indulge on theoritical nature rather the reason behind such reduction! AZRB case is obvious, they need to move on after disastrous arab deal! In fact sime was also trapped into arab disastrous! Nowadays, whatever middle east or india deals should be view with caution!
Finally decide to dispose all the balance AZRB at rm0.77. Thanks AZRB for the bonus to me and i will coming back may be by coming month. Happy investing for All!
yes. this is a mid term play as i mentioned. it is fresh off news announcement and one should not expect another sharp increase so soon without any significant news.
I am not sure what you mean actually. like i said, it should not have any impact on market price. the consolidation is normal after the rally it has experienced. i personally do not think it has got anything to do with the par value reduction
Technically I like what I see! This is perfect example of consolidating mode on short term! Let's see tomorrow if develop white candle! If the white candle is tall then I am sure buy in bulk!
HanSolo! Project in hand plenty impressive! 2 billions projects to complete! I think concession highway will be announce soon, another 1 billion project with recurring income!
abit of movement today. this counter got good fundamentals. don't need worry. like i said i don't see it breaking 0.75 soon with much upside. when the warrants come to play there could be some movement as well
Those who bought the OR at 0.345 would know once the mother's price dropped to 0.74; the effort to buy draft and to post would be a total waste of time. Not to mention having the money all tied up. Oh the headache too...
This is also assuming the warrant will not drop below 0.22.
i have been following azrb probably more than2 years n bought n sold few n made few rm some months a go....yes it has beg few good projects but yet to creat extra value....although still in my radar but trade others which currently having better value such as gadang..
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....
