“Banyak faktor perlu diambil kira dalam pemilihan syarikat yang benar-benar berpotensi kerana NIISe pernah mengalami kegagalan sebanyak dua kali ekoran pelbagai faktor termasuk perubahan kerajaan sejak tahun 2022.

“Kita tidak mahu projek ini gagal sekali lagi hanya kerana kesilapan memilih syarikat yang benar-benar layak untuk mengetuainya, kerana kegagalan sebelum ini, kita sudah kehilangan masa, tenaga, kos yang dibazirkan untuk membangunkan ‘projek sakit’ ini,” jelasnya dalam satu kenyataan yang dikeluarkan hari ini.

Menurut pemerhati tersebut Theta Edge melalui anak syarikatnya, Theta Telecoms Sdn. Bhd. baru sahaja menerima Notis Pelawaan Cadangan daripada Majlis Perbandaran Ampang Jaya (MPAJ) untuk membekal dan menyelenggara teknologi Internet Pelbagai Benda (IoT).

Ia sebahagian daripada Inisiatif Perniagaan Pintar di bawah majlis perbandaran itu bagi tempoh konsesi selama 20 tahun di bawah kerjasama awam-swasta.

Sehubungan itu, Theta Edge akan melabur RM673.8 juta dalam projek ini untuk membangunkan IoT Ekonomi Pintar di Ampang Jaya.

“Bersandarkan kepada projek yang melibatkan satu angka yang besar, wujud persoalannya, samada Theta mempunyai kapasiti sumber kewangan yang diperlukan untuk melaksanakan projek NIISe nanti, sedangkan Theta Edge sedang melaksanakan dua projek utama yang lain milik kerajaan?

“Bukan sahaja kewangan, Theta Edga juga tiada pengalaman dalam bidang keselamatan misi sesuatu yang amat penting untuk projek yang dibida ini,” jelasnya.

Kupasannya, Lembaga Tabung Haji ialah pemegang saham terbesarnya, dengan 27.28% kepentingan.

Dari segi pendapatan, Theta Edge tidak banyak yang perlu dilaungkan. Ia memperoleh keuntungan bersih RM9.58 juta pada tahun kewangan berakhir 31 Disember 2023.

Persoalannya sekarang ialah adakah Theta Edge mempunyai kapasiti teknikal dan sumber kewangan yang diperlukan untuk melaksanakan projek awam ini.

Theta Edge baru-baru ini dianugerahkan kontrak RM673.8 juta dalam membangunkan teknologi IOT (internet of things) untuk perniagaan pintar di Ampang Jaya. Bolehkah Theta Edge menerajui satu lagi projek mega dari segi sumber dan adakah ia memiliki keupayaan kewangan?
