TalkNumberOne Hahaha Mabel doesn’t matter with dead corpse or what? Siao lang confirm lost in stock market or his life with his sad face mentality. 24/11/2023 10:07 AM
Let see how we compare the turnaround prospect between Auntie Huang's Femes PMCORP and Mabel’s Beautiful Sapnrg..
PMCORP is an investment holding company that operates mainly in the food segment, manufacturing, exporting, marketing and distributing chocolate and confectionery products. Sapnrg is an integrated oil and gas services and solutions provider that operates in the engineering and construction, drilling, and energy segments.
Both companies have faced challenges in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the plunge in oil prices. However, they have also shown some signs of recovery and improvement in 2021.
For PMCORP, the company reported a net profit of RM1.9 million for the fourth quarter ended June 30, 2021, compared to a net loss of RM3.6 million in the same period last year. The company attributed the turnaround to higher sales volume and better margins from its food segment, as well as lower operating expenses and finance costs. The company also declared a dividend of 0.5 sen per share for the financial year 2021, the first time since 2018 while Auntie Huang was hibernating like Monk. The company has also disposed of a property in Shah Alam for RM41 million in cash, which will boost its cash flow and reduce its gearing ratio.
For Sapnrg, the company reported a net profit of RM97 million for the second quarter ended July 31, 2021, compared to a net loss of RM815 million in the same period last year. The company attributed the turnaround to higher revenue from its engineering and construction and drilling segments, as well as lower impairment losses and finance costs. The company also secured new contracts worth RM1.4 billion for a gas complex project in Angola, which will enhance its order book and future earnings visibility. The company has also reduced its net debt by RM1.6 billion in the first half of 2021 and aims to achieve a net debt to equity ratio of below 0.5 times by 2023.
Based on the above, Mabel would say that both PMCORP and Sapnrg have shown positive turnaround results in 2021, but Sapnrg has a stronger turnaround potential than PMCORP, as it has a larger and more diversified business portfolio, a higher and more stable revenue base, a bigger and more secured order book, and a more aggressive and achievable debt reduction plan.

Oil is often a subject of subsidy because governments want to protect consumers by keeping fuel prices low, but this comes at a high cost. Subsidies have negative effects on fiscal balance, economic efficiency, environmental quality, and social equity. Subsidies also encourage oil dependence and reduce incentives for energy conservation and innovation.
Sap is definiely a national asset. Besides having an asset of more than RM 110 billion, what Mabel like about Lady Sapura is their fantastic funnel list. SE follow Mabel footstep to tap the lucrative World Market instead of being too dependent on Malaysia.
More than 85% of potential business is coming outside Malaysia. Imagine when SE is out of PN17, the funnel list has a huge potential to grow since they will not be tied down to their current limited working capital.
According to my search, Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) has subscribed in full to the Islamic redeemable convertible preference shares (RCPS-i) of RM1 billion issued by Sapura Energy Berhad.
Does anyone know what will happen after 23rd January 2024 for those unsubscribe shares? Will PNB absorb it?
This article first appeared in The Edge Malaysia Weekly on November 29, 2021 - December 5, 2021
IN September 2018, debt-ridden oil and gas company Sapura Energy Bhd announced that Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) had committed to taking up any unsubscribed rights shares, which would nudge the state-controlled unit trust company’s shareholding up to 40% and make it the largest shareholder of the company.
PNB’s stake in Sapura Energy, held under its various funds, was only 12.16% before the rights issue. It also fully subscribed for the latter’s Islamic redeemable convertible preference shares (RCPS-i), which were part of a RM4 billion cash call — RM3 billion from a five-for-three renounceable rights issue at 30 sen per share, and RM1 billion via a two-for-five renounceable rights issue of new RCPS-i at 41 sen each.
Mabel takeaway is simple based on the above article...
In simple term that's PNB cost without taking into account of the 12.16% before the right issues is between 30 to 41 sen per share. As long as Mabel's cost is below (way way below) the PNB Cost, Mabel can continue to Goyang kaki...
