Normally, if we own shares in a company and a consolidation is announced we will choose to immediately sell our position knowing that the share price will drift back down at which point we may decide to repurchase the shares or just ignore them all together. Remember, the reason for the consolidation is normally to raise the price to make it easier to sell more shares.

Glotec is supposed to announce their quarterly report ended 30/6/15 by 21/8/15 as they usually did in the previous years but why this time they delay the announcement? Is it because the management try to delay it to avoid price drop in current bad economy condition even they have some good news?

如果市值market value比你買回來的價錢減折舊book value平, 而你認為市值將來仍不會高過book value, 就會有impairment loss。
goodwill就是你付出比公司實際價值高的價格買公司, (通常因為那公司的名聲), goodwill也是公司的資產之一, 所以也要做　imparment test來確定沒有overstate公司的價值．
