KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 2): LKL International Bhd has bagged a nitrile glove contract worth US$18.96 million or RM78.49 million.
In a bourse filing, LKL International said its wholly-owned subsidiary LKL Advance Metaltech Sdn Bhd was awarded a sales contract to supply nitrile gloves to an unnamed China-based company.
The contract is expected to contribute positively to its financial year ending April 30, 2021 (FY21).
“The board of directors of the company is of the opinion that the sales contract is in the ordinary course of business and is in the best interests of the company,” the group said.
In a separate statement, LKL International managing director Lim Kon Lian said the sales contract highlighted the firm's growing brand recognition as a supplier of quality medical/healthcare equipment to the global markets.
“This sales contract would boost our export contributions from Asian markets as well as significantly enhance our performance for FY21. Thus, this major development demonstrates the benefits of expanding our exports network to play a greater role in supplying medical/healthcare equipment and related products to all regions," he said.
LKL finished the morning trading session half a sen or 0.54% higher at 93 sen. It saw 4.14 million shares done.
