Tasek Corp Bhd's pre-tax profit for the third quarter ended Sept 30, 2012 rose to RM30.27 million from RM27.55 million in the same period of 2011.
Revenue increased to RM140.4 million from RM132.99 million previously, Tasek said in a filing to Bursa Malaysia today.
Tasek said the improved contributions from local cement sales and higher interest income gave pre-tax profit a boost.
It said the domestic construction market was expected to continue to grow on the back of the new awards and implementation of infrastructure projects under the 10th Malaysia Plan and the Economic Transformation Programme such as mass rapid transit, light rail transit and Tun Razak Exchange.
"The group is expected to remain profitable for the remaining quarter of year 2012," it said. -- Bernama
