The ringgit showed little change against the US dollar in early trade today.
At 9.20 am, the ringgit was quoted at 3.0550/0570 from Monday's 3.0550/0580.
Dealers anticipate thin movement in the ringgit throughout the day as most of the big players were away on holiday.
The ringgit is expected to be traded between 3.05 and 3.06 throughout the day.
"The domestic currency will be supported by year-end demand," said one dealer.
On the local front, the ringgit was traded mostly lower against other major currencies.
It fell against the Singapore dollar to 2.5045/5064 from Monday's 2.5031/5059 but rose against the Japanese yen to 3.6378/6406 from 3.6421/6466 yesterday.
The domestic currency also weakened against the British pound to 4.9491/9536 from 4.9454/9506 yesterday and depreciated against the euro to 4.0225/0255 from 4.0198/0246 on Monday. Bernama
