KUALA LUMPUR: Share prices on Bursa Malaysia remained lower mid-afternoon, dragged by losses in heavyweights prompted by weak buying.
At 3:03 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 3.93 points lower at 1,861.35 points.
Market breadth was negative as losers outpaced gainers 420 to 343 while 307 counters were unchanged, 558 untraded and 15 others were suspended.
Turnover stood at 1.32 billion shares worth RM1.07 billion.
Heavyweights, Maybank, CIMB, Axiata and Sime Darby eased 1.0 sen each to RM9.95, RM7.51, RM6.64 and RM9.28, respectively, while Public Bank shed 4.0 sen to RM20.22 and TNB was flat at RM11.94.
Among actives, 1 Utopia and Tiger Synergy remained unchanged at 7.5 sen and 16.5 sen, respectively, Asian Pac appreciated 1.0 sen to 31 sen and PDZ Holdings lost half-a-sen to 15.5 sen.
On the scoreboard, the Industrial Index was 13.88 points lower at 3,156.97 points, the Finance Index slipped 18.42 points to 17,076.43 points and the
Plantation Index dwindled 24.58 points to 8,978.28 points.
The FBM Emas Index erased 26.47 points to 12,926.62 points, the FBMT100 Index depreciated 25.68 points to 12,558.92 points, the FBM 70 was 25.78 points
lower at 14,178.98 points but the FBM Ace gained 11.82 points to 6,911.5 points. -- BERNAMA
