KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia endured a listless trading today, with the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) closing 2.82 points or 0.16 per cent lower at 1,815.86.
On the broader market, losers outpaced gainers by 427 to 379, with 323 counters unchanged, 636 counters untraded and 34 others suspended.
Total volume dwindled to 1.70 billion shares worth RM1.90 billion from 2.18 billion shares worth RM2.12 billion yesterday.
Among FBM KLCI components, Felda Global Ventures led the laggards, dipping 38 sen to RM2.56.
Sellers emerged as the global agricultural and agri-commodities giant pre-tax profit for the financial year (FY) ending Dec 31, 2014 dipped 47.2 per cent from previous FY to RM826.37 million.
Other laggards were CIMB Group, which lost 12 sen to RM5.90, SapuraKencana shed 13 sen to RM2.81, YTL Corporation edged down seven sen to RM1.68 and Genting declined 16 sen to RM8.87.
Supporting the key index today was Petronas Gas, which gained 72 sen to RM23.72, MISC advanced 18 sen to RM8.23, while Astro garnered 17 sen to RM3.39 and IHH Healthcare improving nine sen to RM5.48.
On other scoreboards, the FBM Emas Index was 19.11 points lower at 12,513.37 and the FBMT100 Index declined 23.79 points to 12,189.98, but the FBM Emas Syariah Index was 21.89 points better at 13,094.64.
The FBM 70 shed 44.91 points to 13,526.42 while the FBM Ace up 18.05 points to settle at 6,628.35.
On a sectoral basis, the Finance Index lost 30.43 points to 15,850.15 and the Plantation Index trimmed 72.64 points to 8,046.63, while the Industrial Index garnered 37.46 points to settle at 3,342.77. -BERNAMA
