KUALA LUMPUR: Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) has maintained its 51,000 jobs in over 75 countries worldwide despite the volatility in the oil prices.
"As of now, there are no job cuts and we are still doing well despite the falling oil prices," said Petronas Group Strategic Communications Senior General Manager, Liz Kamaruddin.
However, the advertisement budget has been cut by over 50 per cent this year compared to last year due to the falling oil prices, she told reporters on the sidelines of the Sustainable Brands Kuala Lumpur conference here today.
"If one organisation can survive from recession or budget cuts, then you can see where your brand move from there.
"If it's still there, then you have done your job and your brand is already sustainable," she said.
The two-day conference themed "How Now", which begin today, is set to demonstrate how brands can tap into emerging innovations to successfully scale sustainability to the next level to accelerate business success.
Global thought leaders in sustainability will share perspectives on successfully building sustainability-led brand innovation at the world's premier conference here in Malaysia for the first time.
Liz said organisations have to be creative in getting their voice out there as it is a very competitive industry.
"In terms of advertisements, if we need to engage with younger crowds, we need to be constantly upbeat," she added. -- Bernama
