KUALA LUMPUR: People are seen making a beeline to get a free ride on transit buses today between several LRT stations affected by the latest service disruption at 16 stations.

Checks by the New Straits Times saw people lining up at the Kelana Jaya LRT station to hop on buses heading towards the Pasar Seni LRT station.

Yesterday, Rapid Bus announced that 20 buses would be deployed, courtesy of Smart Selangor, to transport affected passengers and commuters for free.

For the time being, Rapid Bus will provide 83 buses to cope with the high volume of affected passengers and commuters at five routes: 

• LRT Route 1: Ara Damansara Station – Pasar Seni Station

• LRT Route 2: Ara Damansara Station – Kelana Jaya Station

• LRT Route 3: Kelana Jaya Station – Pasar Seni Station

• LRT Route 4: Pasar Seni Station – Masjid Jamek Station

• LRT Route 5: Masjid Jamek Station – Dato' Keramat Station
