KUALA LUMPUR (July 3): Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd (MRL), the project owner of the RM50 billion East Coast Rail Link (ECRL), will form an operating company with the main contractor, China Communications Construction Co Ltd (CCCC), to manage the train services.

The operating company is the result of the renegotiated contract aimed at sharing operational risks between MRL and CCCC to reduce the financial exposure of the Malaysian government, Transport Minister Anthony Loke said on Wednesday.
