PETALING JAYA: A senator has volunteered to join any task force formed to investigate the death of a specialist doctor in Lahad Datu, Sabah.

Senator Dr RA Lingeshwaran - who was formerly the Sungai Bakap Hospital director - said he welcomed the statement by Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzukefly that the 30-year-old pathology specialist's death should be investigated.

"If and when a task force is formed, I volunteer to be part of it without expecting any remuneration as part of my sevice to the nation," said Lingeshwaran in a statement on Monday (Sept 16).

"I have been receiving daily Whatsapp, emails and Tik Tok messages from many disgruntled Health Ministry staff on alleged bullying incidents in hospitals," he added.

It has been reported that a Hospital Lahad Datu pathology specialist died as a consequence of alleged workplace bullying.

Her family blamed the Health Ministry after she was found dead in her rental unit on Aug 29.

On Sunday (Sept 15), Lahad Datu OCPD Asst Comm Dzulbaharin Ismail said police did not suspect foul play in the doctor's death.
