KUALA LUMPUR: A track intrusion at the Kelana Jaya LRT line caused a service disruption, leaving passengers stranded at several stations.

The disruption was for service between the Masjid Jamek and Bangsar stations.

Rapid KL, in a Facebook post, confirmed the incident.

"Track inspections are being conducted to locate the intruder. Please follow updates. We apologise for the inconvenience. Thank you for your patience."

The incident left many passengers stranded at stations, with netizens flooding social media platforms to share their frustrations.

Some commuters reported being stuck at key stations like KL Sentral and Kampung Baru with trains immobilised for extended periods.

As of time of publication, commuters are still voicing their frustration in the comments section of the Rapid KL's Facebook posting.

"It's been 40 minutes. I (was) supposed to reach home by this time. Where are other alternatives?" Asked user Nur Adiba.

Another user, Daniel Boon, said he had been stuck at the Abdullah Hukum station for almost 35 minutes.

"Why make trouble when people are going back from work?"

Angela Lu, meanwhile, said: "KLCC to Masjid Jamek took an hour and still stuck at Masjid Jamek."

The New Straits Times has reached out to Prasarana Malaysia Bhd and is awaiting further details.
