Encik Md. Shah Mahmood was appointed Head of Strategy & Business Development for the PETRONAS Gas and New Energy Business since April 2019. Prior to that, he helmed as Head, Commercial & Business Development in PETRONAS LNG Sdn. Bhd.
After joining PETRONAS in November 1993, he has held different management positions mainly Business Development Unit and Corporate Planning & Development Division. His leadership accomplishments as Head (Solar Project), Research & Technology included successful completion of three Solar Projects: Suria KLCC, PDB Solaris Station, and Solar Independent Power Producer in Gebeng. He grown from Head, Project Studies for Project Delivery and Technology to Project Director of the LNG Regasification Facilities (RGT2) Project in Pengerang, Johor which he successfully delivered with the PETRONAS first in-house Front-End Engineering Design, ahead of schedule, below budget with excellent HSE performance. Both projects won regional and national awards. He led the development of Gas and New Energy Strategy Blueprint defining the aspiration, purpose and key focus areas. He also efficiently orchestrated the formulation of an integrated new business solution through Virtual Pipeline System, LNG Bunkering & LNG ISO tank filling facilities.
Encik Md. Shah Mahmood's directorships include PETRONAS Gas & Trading Sdn. Bhd. and Amplus Energy Solutions Pte. Ltd. He is member of PETRONAS Corporate Investment Committee, Sustainability Development & Health Safety and Security Executive Council, Leadership Team for Project Management Skill Group, and Advisory Committee for Business Planning Development Skill Group. His industry events participation includes The Vienna Forum 2019, Natural Gas Committees, and Society of Petroleum Engineers.
