6 ~ 10, October - 1 month from Bursa letter on non approval for application of extension to BJLand dated 6 September...

"Further to our announcements dated 2 August 2019 and 5 August 2019, the Board of Directors (“Board”) of Berjaya Land Berhad (“BLand” or “Company”) wishes to announce that Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (“Bursa Securities”) has, vide its letter dated 6 September 2019, resolved not to approve BLand’s application for an extension of time to comply with its approved minimum public shareholding spread requirement of 15% (“Public Spread”).

As provided in the Main Market Listing Requirements of Bursa Securities (“Listing Requirements”), Bursa Securities may:-

(a) impose any type of action or penalty pursuant to Paragraph 16.19 of the Listing Requirements; and

(b) suspend trading in the securities of BLand pursuant to Paragraph 16.02 of the Listing Requirements.

Currently, the public shareholding spread of BLand stood at 14.65%, a shortfall of about 0.35%.

In view of the current poor market condition and as the Company has not formulated any rectification plan to address the shortfall in the Public Spread but will explore all possible options to meet the Public Spread, the Board of BLand may contemplate an appeal on Bursa Securities’ decision on the extension of time to comply with the Public Spread.

If you observe carefully... BJCorp as 85% majority owner is the ultimate beneficiary in case of Privatisation as its share price has been maintained at 25.5/26 sens level come what may, even with a substantial loss declared for current qtr.!
Btw VT only owns about 56% of BJCorp, so whatever happens, the minority will still benefit...

Already passed 2 months from BJLand's legal notice to South Korea on Berjaya Jeju Compensation/Negotiation dated 17 July...There should be a response coming anytime??? Just a small distraction, nothing to be excited about...sale of 1 million shares (0 2%) by BJLand 's wholly-owned subsidiary, Gateway Benefit Sdn Bhd. maybe just a normal buy & sell transaction which hasn't changed the fact that BJCorp & VT still owns more than 85% of shares in breach of Bursa's listing requirements. Also remember the hoard of BJLand held treasury shares not counted in the 85%？.

Notice that, there is no more unlimited shares on sale, VT's just maintaining a semblance of sufficient liquidity to satisfy Bursa before his next steps materialize.

As said before, VT's last card is to offer to convert shareholders shares in BJLand to BJCorp preferably on the same ratio (30/38) as the earlier Penta/BJCorp deal in the event of a delisting. That's why BJCorp's share price at 25.5 - 26 sens has been maintained eventhough it reported a large impairment loss for current Qtr.

Since VT already got so much money back and even more money after October for his planned activities, don't think he can afford a six months suspension as it will affect BJCorp as the 85% majority shareholder since VT's direct interest in BJLand is less the 2%,?
